What do you enjoy the most with ICMF-FF? The recommendations? The discussion? Something else?

How many films are you hoping to see from the program this year?

What are your favourite films from the lineup so far?

What films are you looking forward to the most?

What slates are you most excited to dive into?

Did anything we said in the episode change your mind on what films you should check out?

Is there anything you think ICMF-FF is missing?

Do you have any recommendations for films from 2021-2023 that we really need to include next year?

I enjoy the recommendations. I probably only enjoy half of the movies I see during the festival, but that half tends to be very good and a regular source of additions to my 500<400 list. I also like the discussion because it's an occasion for a lot of people in the forum to see the same movies at the same time. Sometimes, this discussion truly adds to my understanding of these movies. I remember the back-and-forth about Martin Eden a couple of years ago being particularly enlightening.

How many films are you hoping to see from the program this year?
Beyond the eight I have already seen, probably another 10-12.

What are your favourite films from the lineup so far?
I have seen eight so far. Great Freedom was easily my favorite among that bunch. It's now on my 500<400 list.

Is there anything you think ICMF-FF is missing?
Random oaters and fap movies.

Do you have any recommendations for films from 2021-2023 that we really need to include next year?
They have to be under 10k IMDb votes, right? I suggested Servants to the programmers earlier this year. I don't know whether anyone saw it. Oddly enough, I didn't truly enjoy Servants, but I think a lot of people here would. Unfortunately, it's from 2020, so I guess it wouldn't be eligible next year? Beyond that, I liked 7 Prisoners, Prayers for the Stolen, My Father's Dragon, and My Old School.

As a programmer I think I wait a while before adding my ratings to the festival threads and responding to the questions here. But as a listener to the podcast (almost finished at the time of writing) I wanted to give a shoutout to my fellow programmers for another very enthusiastic podcast on the festival. A lot of interesting insights I hadn't read much about before too. I hope a lot of people will give this a listen... and then get excited about our festival! :)

Only remarkable thing that stood out to me so far was that the good performance of Georg Friedrich in Große Freiheit was a surprise to some. He has been one of my very favorite German language actors for years now. Often fearless in the roles he takes on (for instance recently, his role in Seidl's Rimini / Sparta) and always a standout!

The recommendations and discussion are fun, but I think the biggest thing is that we're all watching the same films together so they're fresh in our minds too.

How many films are you hoping to see from the program this year?
I'll finish the main slate for sure, then maybe 10-20/40 from the minor slates.

What are your favourite films from the lineup so far?
Before the festival, didn't know any of them. But so far I'm a big fan of Apples.

What films are you looking forward to the most?
People talked Saolum up a lot so that would be exciting. Generally I try to avoid any hype or discussion prior watching the film to be as neutral as possible.

What slates are you most excited to dive into?
Main slate. Maybe the Asian, arthouse, and cult from the minor ones.

Did anything we said in the episode change your mind on what films you should check out?
No :P I'm going to watch the full main slate.

Is there anything you think ICMF-FF is missing?
I don't know.

Do you have any recommendations for films from 2021-2023 that we really need to include next year?
I do. But I'm going to build up a case for it later

On a different note, this is the first time I listen to Talking Images, and in a way, it's the first time I realize that you are real people and not just avatars on my screen :P (sorry)
