Our job for Deerskin is done.
-_-
Heh. I’ll clean up my list before the deadline and remove those 400+ check films. I know Career Girls is another that has since crossed the threshold…wish I had seen that one a few years ago. Might have a couple more to get rid of.
I’m to remember every man I've seen fall into a plate of spaghetti???

Blocho back in the game/in my excel list ;)

Don't really worry about the > 400, i'll be able to exclude them easily @ the end.

I can post an extract of all the voters >400 films at the middle of the poll nomination if it helps

Still some minor changes pending, I will probably try to round it up to 250, but here's mine in advance, ranked: Favourites under 400 checks (2022).

My list will be ~200 also, and I think of a 100-half-life as too radical. 75 could be fitting, staying at 50 wouldn't kill us.
What were the previous polls?

Can you provide scoring breakdowns for Half-life of 125 and 150 too? It probably does make sense to have higher half-life if the average list is 360+ titles.

My list (ranked):
https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/top+ ... don_gekko/

Most checks:
Emperor of the North Pole (1973) and Milano calibro 9 (1972) with 396 checks (so maybe out in octobre)

Less checks:
Die Russen kommen (1987) and One of These Days (2020) with 6 / 7 checks (little bit suprised cause last one released in cinema this year)

On most official lists:
Monanieba (1984) with 7 lists

Here is my ranked list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls561563729/

There are some very high new entries in my list this time round which makes for a nice change. Not sure how they will fare but I will be happy if either my new number 2 (Come True) or my new number 5 (El Escapulario) manage to make an appearance in the 1000<400 portion of the list. I think the main list would be a little too ambitious but we shall see...

It's also cool to see a lot of support for Beauty and The Dogs after its recent success in DtC. That would be a fine addition to the 500<400 and I've seen it in quite a few people's lists so far.

Thanks for hosting Tim. Looking forward to the results countdown as always!

I dont think we need to go that high with most of the bigger lists being 400-500 but for your own thoughts here they are:

Scoring for ranked lists: Half-life = 125
#1: 100 points
#51: 76 points
#101: 57 points
#201: 33 points
#364: 13 points
#831: 1 point

Scoring for ranked lists: Half-life = 150
#1: 100 points
#51: 79 points
#101: 63 points
#201: 40 points
#364: 19 points
#997: 1 point

And to summarize the options in a graph:

Thanks, hurlu - that's exactly what I was looking for.

Something worth mentioning: while most users are capping their lists at 400-500, I know that at least in my case the only reason I do this is because the amount of points for the films towards the bottom of my ballot is so small. If I felt like I was handing out significant points, I could and would easily expand my own list to 1000. And I would imagine that there are others in the same boat too.

It's a graph to visualize how excessive 100(+)-half-lives are in my eyes. :P
Could be fantastic for some of you Top 100 users with loads of great underseen <400 films, but for me, on the opposite side, I wouldn't even want to give as many points to my films ranked below 100 or 150. And there are other people with even shorter lists (right?). We have to find a balance for everyone.
Apart from that, I'm skeptical of overturning the half-life by so much if it has been the same for every previous poll.

Before I forget it: My nominations, ranked as always. I still have to sort the new additions post-204, some great ones there.

My list was originally going to be in the 600-700 range and perhaps even a bit higher, but I left off a bunch of the lower ranking films because I didn't see the point of going further.

Having no luck with the "weed out all the films over 400 checks in your "500<400" list" link. Any advice? I have copied and pasted in my browser, but nothing happens. I think I got close to all of these, but I'm not sure if I got all of the films that are on one of the new lists? Any way I can check that without going one by one?

cinewest, you do realize this is our <400 poll and we're past the poll for unofficial ICM films? ;)
Anyway, don't worry too much if you're struggling with that - Tim already announced to look for ineligible films later next month!

Seeing that you limit yourself to exactly 200 titles, bear in mind that 2021 releases (Das Mädchen und die Spinne & Souvenir Part II) aren't eligible before next year. Imamura's Profound Desires could potentially break the 400-threshold until our deadline.
Maybe look for 2-3 backup titles ;)

My "complete" list actually only had 201. So I removed it just to be exact (anal).

But if Profound Desires becomes ineligible I will add it back.

I will rank Ruben Brandt higher if you can be persuaded to move Away and Marona into your ranked Top 100 tehe

Ruben isn't really perfect in my eyes, but it's 100% a movie targeted at the ICM audience, would be weird if it never made it into <400 or DtC.

How dare you put the sanctity of a participation in an ICM poll in doubt with such crass, backhanded dealings ?!

How high a ranking for Ruben Brandt are we talking here exactly? :whistling:
