I said I would join this WC again from the knock-out rounds, so I will try to watch all from now. And I'm off with a pretty good start.
1. Mia aioniotita kai mia mera [Eternity and a Day] (1998): 8.0 - Angelopoulos knows very well how to mix memories and reality. Some of the long takes, f.e. the marriage scene, are fantastic.
Am I the only one who thinks that it would have been even better if an aged Marcello Mastroianni would have actually done the lead as was the original idea? (Not to knock on Ganz who does a very good job)
2. Do widzenia, do jutra [Good Bye, Till Tomorrow] (1960): 7.2 - pretty decent nouvelle vague romance movie.

1. Mia aioniotita kai mia mera - 7ish - this felt like I was watching it for eternity and a day. The first hour was quite good, but then it meandered into uninteresting sideplots and dreams and visions. I'm a narrative guy at heart. Still, it wasn't that bad, and it was interesting to see Hitler as an old man when he was actually younger.
2. Do widzenia, do jutra... - 6.4 - if anyone asked me to rewatch this film I'm probably tell them goodbye, until tomorrow and end the conversation there. It was boring and the main character is unsympathetic that I didn't want to watch it. It's been three years since I saw it and all I can remember is that the cinematography was good, but ultimately I finished the film unsatisfied.

After a 14-14 tie it's Greece again now.

Country names? Already been done, I think.

currently working thru such film lists (besides TV): 2010s bests, RW Fassbinder, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Luis Bunuel, Yasujiro Ozu, Eric Rohmer, Visual Effects nominees, kid-related stuff, great animes (mini-serie or feature), very 80s movies, 17+ sci-fi lists on watchlist, ENVIRO, remarkable Silent Films and Pre-Code (exploring 1925 atm) and every shorts and docu list I'm aware of and
