Ooh, nice find. Something's up with the runtime, though. imdb says 90 minutes, Mubi says 127 minutes. Apparently the film was considered lost for decades.

d3ver, are you still reading this? If not, I'll try to contact you elsewhere.

The sorting by expiration is completely messed up at the moment. I'm browsing the site sorted on ascending expiration. On page 3, the movies will disappear after 15 days.
https://whatsonmubi.com/?page=3&sort=expires-asc
However, on page 4, the movies expire after 11 of 12 days.
https://whatsonmubi.com/?page=3&sort=expires-asc
That is, if I use the 4-button on the bottom of the page.
However, if I go back to page 3 using the back-button of my browser and then forward again with the forward button of my browser, I'm getting other movies, which expire after 15 days. I clicked some more going back and forth and even on page 1 I sometimes get a different set of movies than another time. It's one set or another, not lots of random sets.

Another thing. I was on page 4:
https://whatsonmubi.com/?page=4&sort=expires-asc
I noticed the movie called "Private" (2004). It said expiration 12 days. However, when I click on it the movie page says it expires in 6 months. So what is true?

At the moment it seems impossible to browse these pages to actually know which movies will expires in the next two weeks.

Hey @joachimt thanks for reporting this issue. I think it's the caching (to speed up page loads) messing things up. I've cleared the cache, and you should get more consistent results now.
As for backward / forward buttons, if you getting unexpected results try refreshing the page and see if that solves it.

I'm aware of the issues with data not always being consistent. I'm currently solely focusing on getting the new version released (about a ~month away from release, if everything goes right). I'm addressing all of these issues and adding lots of new features and improvements (especially search/filter and data accuracy).

Here's a sneak peek of the new design:

Going back and forth in several ways looks like I'm getting consistent results now. Thanks!

The new design looks great. Can't wait!

How are you making a connection between the movie and IMDb etc...? MUBI doesn't provide an IMDb- or TMDb-number, does it? Anyway, I'm really glad to see that connection. Very useful. Will there be an export option, like exporting a selection based on filters?

Mostly through the OMDb API (https://www.omdbapi.com/) but that only provides IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes scores, and sometimes Metacritic. There will have to be some manual work done, and I'm opening that up for user contributions.

I think I'll do an "Add to calendar" or export via ICS files. What else would you find useful here ?

I think most people here would love to see the option of a csv-export of searchresults. Csv should include IMDb-url.

Most people here have huge watchlists and other way of selecting movies to watch. The complete database of MUBI is too ovewhelming to handpick movies. I actually do that every two weeks or so. I go through all title that almost expire and one by one check the movie on icheckmovies to see if it's something I want to see. With a csv-export it's just a matter of crossreferencing in Excel against tons of lists I already got there. For example, on this forum we create new "best of" lists every month. With a csv from whatsonmubi it's easy to figure out which movies on all those forum lists are available on MUBI (and filter out movies you've already seen at the same time). That would save me lots of time.

Hmm yeah, would probably make sense to include an export option in search / filter pages.

Yeah, super cool d3ver. I also noticed that the site wasn't working as intended; it was showing me that bunch of films were expiring, and then they didn't expire. It looks like that's been fixed now.

I use Mubi/the site pretty much the same way as Joachim I visit yours or the "leaving soon" page on Mubi, and see which films are scheduled to leave (I don't have a VPN, so I can just focus on the ones leaving in my country), and then look up films I'm not familiar with to decide whether or not to add them to my watchlist or not.

MUBI sending my 2022 retrospective: with 29 films watched, I am in the 8% of most passionate watchers… 🤨 What are people doing with their subscription ?

I know, right? I'm in the top 4% with less than one film watched per week (46), which seems a bit low.

My roommate and I both got top 1%. I don't think we watched astronomical amounts of films on MUBI at all. I saw a little over 100. He saw 70 something.

Thanks. Found it. Thought it was just a regular Mubi email and ignored it when it came in.

https://mubi.com/2022/50bc4373c75a9398f ... r_you=true

Top 2%, which surprises me. 74 films, but a lot of them were shorts. Given how many films that are relatively unknown elsewhere get thousands of ratings on Mubi, I thought it would take a lot more films to get into the top 10%, but perhaps there are a lot of casual viewers who only watch one film a month or who subscribe and then cancel a month later.

And their recommendation engine is pretty bad if they're just basing it on what I've watched (mind you, I don't rate films on Mubi, yet, so it doesn't have anything else to go by). I use Mubi primarily to see newer releases that I can't/won't be able to find anywhere else.

d3ver, again the numbers are off.
https://whatsonmubi.com/film/where-to-invade-next
This shows up in the search results on page 9 among movies that expire in 12 days, but when I go to the actual page of the movie, it says 12 months.

d3ver, it's happening again.
This page...
https://whatsonmubi.com/?page=3&sort=expires-asc
...tells me that "Love Me If You Dare" is available for 9 days. When I go to the movie page all the countries say 2 or 3 days.

d3ver, another question. If your site says a movie is available for "3 months", does that mean it's rounded so it could be 2.5 months as well? Or is it "at least 3 months"? So it's February 14th now and some movie say 3 months. Are they available till at least May the 14th or could they expire at May the 1st?

I decided to use watch MUBI differently. I kept prioritizing movies that expire soon, but I decided to cancel my subscription this summer when the year I paid for ends. So the remaining time I see no use for watching expiring movies in all countries. I just checked my own country and there's enough to watch without VPN for a while. I'll keep using whatsonmubi though to find the expiration date.

Sorry for the late response. I'm not quite sure. The obvious solution to this would be to show the exact date and time that I find on MUBI. Will make sure to have this fixed on the new version.
