iCM Forum Film World Cup - Season 2 - Records and Statistics

The tournament began on January 1st, 2016. This is how it works:
- We start with 48 films from 48 countries.
- The winning country from each match advances, and will be represented by a different film in the next round.
- There are 5 rounds. In round 1 there are 3 films per match (only 1 advances). In rounds 2-5 there is 2 films per match.

There are few restrictions:
- The film must have <1000 checks on iCM.
- The film must be no longer than 3 hours.
- You may only use 1 film per director throughout the entire tournament.

Voters are obliged to watch all three films from a specific group in order to vote by a ranking system (1-3). A country proceeds to the R2 if its film has positive head-to-head record against two other opponents, regardless if it’s not the best in average score (that said, countries with an asterisk have better 1 on 1 score against the opponents ranked behind them). - The match most voters took part in (43) was the final. The least voters (29) took part in Group L. In total, 64 members of the forum submitted at least one vote.

Newly set records:

- Cabascabo (NIG) is film with the worst performance with the vote ratio of 11/65 (0.169). It also holds the worst performance against another film in terms of vote margin, and that's 4-34 (-30) versus Araya (VEN). In addition to this, Araya received most consecutive votes against another film (17) in the said match.

- For the first time, African side advanced to the semifinals, and that was done by Egypt. The only continent without having a country that advanced through the second round is Oceania.

- The oldest ever film: Herr Arnes pengar (SWE) from 1919, as well as the newest ever: Umimachi Diary (JPN) from 2015.

- Året gjennom Børfjord (NOR) is film of the shortest duration that participated (11'57'').

I don't know it this has been mentioned before, I'm a bit surprised that only five countries repeat as second round participants: Japan, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Sweden. Same for managers, only five: Carmel98, funkybusiness, mjf314, monty and sortile9io.

I think that's not a small number at all. Remember nobody chose Chile, Serbia and Austria, that's already three possibilities less.

I also think the next season whoever choses Chile should be granted Pot 1 position, deserved on previous success. Regardless of the fact that Chile was skipped meanwhile.
