Cancelled Spotify, seems like a good time to try Apple Music, they have 3 months trial (too bad they don't have a desktop app), seems YT Music is another option, that one works for free as well with the ads, but those seem less obtrusive than on Spotify. I just hope Spotify stock does not tank to the point where Microsoft makes a purchase offer, lol.

That's called iTunes. Works fine on Windows. Anything you change in your library in iTunes is also changed in the app on your phone.

Oh, I do hate iTunes, I better use the web app then :) I understand they have retired iTunes and it's not really updated on Windows anymore.

I just tried the web app. A few things I noticed right away.
- No way to edit tags. So I can't do what I want at all.
- There's a button "Open in iTunes", so they're still promoting iTunes.
- Sorting is inconsistent with the iOS app. The band "A Pale Horse Named Death" is listed at A in the web app, but at P in the iOS app.

I do wonder about something about changing tags for which I can't find the answer online. If I change the name of an artist in my iTunes library, will this disable the automatically addition of new material? There's a setting in the music app, which enables automatic addition of new albums of artists in your library. But if I change the name of an artist, will it still recognize it's the same artist?

bal3x, which iOS do you have on your iPhone? Since I upgraded to iOS 15.3, I don't get any notifications for new music anymore. This feature is one of the most helpful things in Apple Music. When something new is being released from one of the artists in my library, and that's a lot, I used to get a notifications and I also turned on the option to automatically add it to my library.

Unfortunately, when I go to my account settings in the app, then to notifications, the page freezes. I should see this screen:

Image

Already tried signing out, restarting device, singing in. No result.

Another weird thing, when I few my subscriptions, it says I have none. Streaming works fine though.

I complained too soon. I got a new notification this morning and the music was added to my library. Still weird though I can't edit the settings anymore and it says I don't have a subscriptions.

I'm actually using Android more, but I do have an iPhone too, I like to have both :D I mean there are pros & cons everywhere. But the problems you're describing are likely temporary, but when I try to open notifications from the music app it just shows "loading" and nothing happens.. so it appears to be some sort of glitch, I am sure it will be resolved soon.

I'm glad someone can confirm the bug. Wife and daughter are still on 15.2 and I didn't find anywhere online people complaining about the same.

Yeah, I'm on 15.3 so I hope it gets fixed soon, I'm quite sure more folks will notice it so they will be aware of that.

Now it's time for some localpatriotism. B)

24/02/1962 - 24/02/2022

On this day 60 years ago, my hometown (Pančevo, 6th Serbian city by population) saw its first vinyl release. Saša Popaz (born 1939) covered Paul Anka's huge hit and this is how it sounded:

He was our first rock'n'roll singer. After several releases, Popaz moved to Eastern Europe where he used to sing in local bars, mainly Poland. He's still alive and well today. Some of his later covers:

I came across this post on Imgur and the basics behind it: it was this Chipmunks album of 80s synthpop songs, which someone then slowed down so the vocals would be at a normal voice, and my goodness its fantastic. I guess this is called "sludge" but damn.

Thought it was interesting to share.

There is a lot of film discussion too, obviously lots are Japanese films & anime, but also lots of WKW talk.

We have our monthly WKW discussion, and a monthly Lily Chou-Chou discussion.
