Fake Movie Titles

#1

Post by xianjiro »

I may have missed it, but I did look for a similar thread ... while this would be a fine place to share fake movie titles you spot elsewhere, feel free to make up your own as well. Here's one that was inspired by Tercera Llamada (2013), well, and B-movies.

Ok, not sure I understand this game — we just suggest random phrases like above?

Well, not exactly. Occasionally fake titles appear in movies, on TV, in books, etc. I don't remember any off the top of my head, but sometimes they sound more interesting than the movie we're actually watching. Everyone's absolutely free to share those!

But in my case, there was a tiny sub-plot involving the weed-powered sound guy at the theatre who might just be paranoid that EMOs are following him, until he's attacked by a horde that looked more like Night of the Living EMOs. I thought of other movies like Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and was inspired to the Spanish Language title I shared. Yours also works well and is a play on the title of a very famous movie - like a reboot of every other classic in Hollywood these days.

This thread might languish for a while though since it's less driven than ones like Change a letter, Combine two movies, and some of our other title games. Sorry about that. :(

Here's some ideas:

a Western: Scorpion on a Cactus

a dystopian Western: Mouse Eats Hawk

and the epic iCM trilogy: Rise and Fall of a Moravian Tart (a List-O-Rama production)

It's Official: Birth of a Moravian Tart
16380: Odyssey of a Moravian Tart
Leaving iCheckia: Reformation of a Moravian Tart

From UHF:

Gandhi II

He's back!
And this time he's gonna kick some butt!
No more Mr. Nice Guy!

[is that the idea?]

There's also a bunch from the "Sneakin' into movies" Siskel & Ebert parody in Hollywood Shuffle

Yes, I believe so. It's fun/funny to see some of the fake/bogus titles that appear in movies (or books). Some can be really, really creative and I was hoping we might capture some of them here.

If one's feeling particularly energetic, a screencap of the fake movie poster, billboard, or marquee would be welcome as well.

(We already have a number of other threads where we make up our own movie titles (etc) ;) )

Comedies would offer quite a few of those, right?
The Simpsons maybe hold a world record for that, even if the content is mostly obvious parodies of other known classics, the titles alone are sometimes hilarious: The Bloodening and The Re-Deadening come to mind. :D

While I wasn't a movie, a West End theatre's marquee says "Margot Channing in Remembrance" near the end of Connecting Rooms (1970). Had a right good chuckle.

To crib from a another thread, during the pandemic a theater in Phoenixville PA had marquee titles like Mr. Smith goes to wash his hands, No close encounters of any kind, etc.
