Also, regarding the ICM-list tab: the decade lists would be in it, of course. Most Checked + Most Favorite should move there, too. Now what about 500<400 .. is the ICM Forum just a mere website? Or the whole <400 aspect enough to put our project along the pure site-based lists?
Any mod feedback on this?sortile9io wrote: βDecember 31st, 2022, 6:06 pm I would also use acronyms (iCM's 1960s Top 100, etc.) in the same manner that the IMDb tab does to reduce the high ugly block of iCheckMovies's. And while we're at it, why not sort the rest of the tabs alphabetically, using plural in director and country too, i. e.: All, iCM, Awards, Countries, Critics, Directors, IMDb, Institutes, Websites, Others.

The Websites tab is really crowded these days and it does look goofy with a dozen of our own decade lists in it. I would guess the programming part of an ICM tab is not a big issue. Now we'd only need to convince those in power.

Don't know if this has been brought up. I would actually guess that making a new category for a new tab would be a relatively big thing. But this is entirely my speculation. I'd be in favour of an iCM tab. Also not against shortening the names although they don't seem that long comparatively.Torgo wrote: βMarch 6th, 2023, 5:13 amTorgo wrote: βJanuary 1st, 2023, 7:35 pmHey Panunz,

Marijn has already said he doesn't want to shorten the names of those lists, so I wouldn't expect that to happen.
Redoing the Tabs has been an ongoing discussion for years, but it's never been priority to properly implement, and only Marijn can do it. It would also be ideal to align them with the Categories for user-made lists at the same time, though that implementation also didn't happen.

With all the debates we're having since the turn of the year, I never really looked at the <1910 list tbh .. so it came a bit of a surprise for me that the longest film on it .. is still categorized as a short! (Although some sources say La vie et la passion de JΓ©sus Christ runs 45 minutes, not 44).
The next-longest titles from this Top 100 (!) run 24, 20, 17 and 16 minutes and then one soon gets to single-digit runtimes.
It's a real Shangri-La for all the Czechoslovakian desserts among us, and I never realized how much so.

We're nearing half a year since the last round so it's likely to expect news of 'moar
' lists.
They're probably chosen already but I'll still be lobbying for some well needed and deserved 'aussieome' representation, AACTA Award for Best Film

Sweet, so it's not just me campaigning for this list. I have been trying to get this official for a few years now. Most other big countries have a best of and national award list so why shouldn't Australia?dirty_score wrote: βMay 8th, 2023, 3:44 pm We're nearing half a year since the last round so it's likely to expect news of 'moar' lists.

Yeah, I'm using it for this month's challenge and I felt it would be a nice expansion to the official one. Well i don't know but it would be cool for Babyteeth to be official. I'll give it that. In case the emojis don't display for some folks, they are:

My guesses:
Gorilla: Best of guerilla filmmaking
Dove: The Bill & Ted series
Silver medal: Nobody cares about second place
Movie camera: Every film ever made
I'm sure all my guesses are correct and I suggest I should be rewarded by having one of my lists adopted as well. If I were you I would choose my John Waters' list: https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/john ... dulcedoes/

Man, that's a TOUGH one to guess considering ICM revolves all around films and that literally is a film camera ..Fergenaprido wrote: βMay 12th, 2023, 11:23 pmdirty_score wrote: βMay 8th, 2023, 3:44 pm We're nearing half a year since the last round so it's likely to expect news of 'moar' lists.

Oscar for Cinematography also already is official, so maybe we have to think outside the box for this one ..

If both Sitges and Venice are in there I'm very surprised and VERY happy!!
Perhaps this one since it did relatively well on the forum poll? And Silver Medal is probably the Venice list?Torgo wrote: βMay 13th, 2023, 12:54 amMan, that's a TOUGH one to guess considering ICM revolves all around films and that literally is a film camera ..Fergenaprido wrote: βMay 12th, 2023, 11:23 pmdirty_score wrote: βMay 8th, 2023, 3:44 pm We're nearing half a year since the last round so it's likely to expect news of 'moar' lists.

But at the bottom, the immanent philosopher sees in the entire universe only the deepest longing for absolute annihilation, and it is as if he clearly hears the call that permeates all spheres of heaven: Redemption! Redemption! Death to our life! and the comforting answer: you will all find annihilation and be redeemed!

Being a species emblematic of wildlife conservation, the gorilla could be a hint of an environment-related list.
Look at Sitges, must be it.
Maybe we'll get a Best (Gorillas in the) Mystery list.

I wouldn't really associate religion with peace. Quite the opposite to be frank.Mulholland wrote: βMay 13th, 2023, 11:07 amIs there a list on ICM of all the Ecumenical Jury winners at Cannes etc? Just thinking of any religious lists out there.
Dovzhenkos seems like the best fit for that one (it also refers to Ukraine which currently is in a war), and it's a good country list imo.
Sitges seems good too, also adds variation to the numerous drama / arthouse award lists.
Silver Lion i guess is ok.
Just don't think we needed a new cinematography list (that is quite old), esp. since it wouldn't contribute much except for adding another official list to many well known films (if that's the one ppl think it is).

I brought it up more as their logo is a dove and they give prizes at pretty much all major film festivals.
If their logo is a dove, than it could make sense, okMulholland wrote: βMay 14th, 2023, 12:20 amCompletely agree on that level.Lakigigar wrote: βMay 13th, 2023, 6:07 pmI wouldn't really associate religion with peace. Quite the opposite to be frank.Mulholland wrote: βMay 13th, 2023, 11:07 am
