Currently on 271/1000 checks myself. I'm at 46% on the Top 1000 and 52% on the main list, so quite a bit to work on here.

I didn't realize I was on the threshold until the film was over, but I just became the 400th check for "Dames" (1934).
Be advised: "Carriage to Vienna" is now at 399 checks.

Exciting times, and a film I'm sure we'll keep promoting long after it leaves the list.
Saw a stack of Carriage to Vienna tees at Hot Topic the other day.
Have you seen the film in question? There are a lot of great films on the <400 list that deserve to be discovered as well. That’s kind of the point with the list.

…while I agree, I do think the film is a perfect number one for this list, and it sums up the forums taste pretty well.

My comment meant no disrespect to Carriage of Vienna or the love that it has received in this forum. In fact it is high on my watchlist.72aicm wrote: ↑January 20th, 2023, 7:25 pmHave you seen the film in question? There are a lot of great films on the <400 list that deserve to be discovered as well. While It's not for everyone, one of my own top 10, Schaste Moe (My Joy), also involves a trip into the forest, though it takes a much darker turn.

^ was just about to recommended V tumane but then saw it at 1000 list already, nice
That is another great one by Loznitsa (involving another critical trip into the forest) that I have high on my list for this poll.nimimerkillinen wrote: ↑January 21st, 2023, 5:05 pm ^ was just about to recommended V tumane but then saw it at 1000 list already, nice
I got the honour of being the 400th check.
And now its watch has ended.
