Hello there. A TV-Series with 16 episodes shouldn't be eligible for this, so you need to pick another title.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14609588/

Good luck with the rest of your list.

I also expanded my list already quite a bit. Seems like this poll has motivated me to at least watch the ones i wanted to watch the most. Possible i might view a few others.

7. Kirsten Dunst (The Power of the Dog)
8. Kate Siegel (Midnight Mass)
9. Mia Wasikowska (Bergman Island)
10. Rooney Mara (Nightmare Alley)

While Penelope Cruz is the only actor I listed twice, Seydoux and Roth both had supporting roles I couldn't find space for but did consider. Even with full lists of nominees, there were still some difficult cuts, particularly Tim Blake Nelson in Old Henry, Tahar Rahim in The Serpent, Park Yu-rim in Drive My Car, and Sahar Goldoost in A Hero. Also leaving open the possibility of tinkering.

EDIT: added Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy at #11, dropping The Lost Daughter.

I am not able to properly carry this out for the moment. Is it just me or is there a lot of overrated crap out there?

Among the big ones I liked Drive My Car, The Worst Person in the World, Cry Macho, Petite Maman, The Last Duel and that's that. Also Pig, The Marksman or Onoda: 10,000 Nights in the Jungle deserve more appreciation.

I guess I'll put up my list now; wanted to wait to last minute but given problems with internet and car, I may not be around or available to post over the next day or two. As always, and probably like most people here, I haven't seen nearly all the films I want to - this year seems actually worse than last in terms of getting to stuff, I suppose that's mostly due to increasing depression/moodiness and other issues on my part; I actually have access to loads of things this time that I just haven't yet bothered with, though there are certainly some films that I haven't found, or have barely impinged on my perception. I know, yadda yadda, boring. Whatever. For the moment:

GREAT
1. Benediction (Terence Davies)
2. Petite maman (Céline Sciamma)

PROBABLY GREAT
3. Historiya ni Ha (Lav Diaz)

EXCELLENT
4. Jaddeh Khaki / Hit the Road (Panah Panahi)
5. The Green Knight (David Lowery)
6. Licorice Pizza (Paul Thomas Anderson)
7. Ghahreman / A Hero (Asghar Farhadi)
8. North by Current (Angelo Madsen Minax)
9. Doraibu mai kâ / Drive My Car (Ryûsuke Hamaguchi)

UNCLASSIFIABLE
10. New York Ninja (John Liu (1984)/Kurtis Spieler (2021)

VERY GOOD
11. The Card Counter (Paul Schrader)
12. Verdens verste menneske / The Worst Person in the World (Joachim Trier)
13. Lingui (Mahamat-Saleh Haroun)
14. Nightmare Alley (Guillermo Del Toro)
15. Flugt / Flee (Jonas Poher Rasmussen)
16. Babardeala cu bucluc sau porno balamuc / Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn (Radu Jude)
17. Madres paralelas / Parallel Mothers (Pedro Almodóvar)
18. Une histoire d'amour et de désir / A Tale of Love and Desire (Leyla Bouzid)
19. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (Morgan Neville)
20. La traversée / The Crossing (Florence Miailhe)

HM:

The French Dispatch
Judas and the Black Messiah
The Last Duel
Last Night in Soho

Pig
Dem pesky URLs

LEAD ACTRESS:
1. Alana Haim, Licorice Pizza

Since most voters stick with 2021 IMDb year I have removed all the other films from my list except if it was already quoted by someone else (my 2021 release list is otherwise there).

1. Hold Me Tight / Serre moi fort ( Mathieu Amalric , 2021 )
2. Annette ( Leos Carax , 2021 )
3. Lost Illusions / Illusions perdues ( Xavier Giannoli, 2021 )
4. Petite maman ( Céline Sciamma , 2021 )
5. Cryptozoo ( Dash Shaw, 2021 )
6. Deception / Tromperie ( Arnaud Desplechin, 2021 )
7. Quo vadis, Aida? ( Jasmila Zbanic , 2020 )
8. Another World / Un autre monde ( Stéphane Brizé, 2021 )
9. Drive My Car / Doraibu mai kâ ( Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, 2021 )
10. Compartment Number 6 / Hytti nro 6 ( Juho Kuosmanen, 2021)
11. Spencer ( Pablo Larraín, 2021 )
12. Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy / Gûzen to sôzô ( Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, 2021 )
13. Ahed's Knee / Ha'berech ( Nadav Lapid, 2021 )
14. A Hero / Ghahreman ( Asghar Farhadi, 2021 )
15. Hive ( Blerta Basholli, 2021 )
16. Historya ni Ha (Lav Diaz, 2021)
17. The Power of the Dog ( Jane Campion , 2021 )
18. Pig ( Michael Sarnoski, 2021 )
19 The Last Duel ( Ridley Scott, 2021 )
20. The Summit of the Gods / Le sommet des dieux (Patrick Imbert, 2021)

When people nominate "Limbo" without more details I assume they mean Soi Cheang's Limbo, not Ben Sharrock's Limbo.

Just finished The Girl and the Spider, it may have made the bottom of my list or close to. Fun trivia is that the final soundtrack is Desireless' Voyage Voyage (1987) like in Compartment Number 6 although it is more of a fit there. In hindsight, my list is filled with 80s/90s nostalgia with more than a third of the movies set in the period or connected to it.
