This is a picture I took in 1984 of the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Valley in France. The picture is the chateau reflected in its moat, so the effect is that of an impressionist painting. This is what the chateau looks like normally: https://www.viator.com/Loire-Valley-att ... 178-a20187

Reasons why water is good (in order of importance):
1. Provides dope reflections for pictures
2. Makes all life possible

Took these almost 3 years ago walking around Haworth in West Yorkshire (just outside Bradford). The natural landscape inspired three sisters who became famous novelists.

The Bronte family home is now a museum.

"The Railway Children" was filmed nearby too.

This batch of photos has only one noticeable dirt-stain on the upper left corner, whereas your first batch had two of those. Both sessions are said to have taken place 3 years ago.
So, tell us, Roland: what happened to your equipment, and is it something that only bugs me or do you become infuriated when viewing your old photos, marred for all time to come?

Lake District photos were taken before Haworth, so I could only remove one stain. It really bothered me at first but now I'm used to it. I don't take photos often enough or share my photos with enough people to justify spending lots of time and money on photoshop, extra lenses e.t.c.
I get the hint, I won't sully the forum with my photographs anymore

Brrrrr, blocho. Kind of apropos for the weather right now actually.
Ah, thank you. That's much warmer-looking. Although I'm reminded of the Seinfeld ep when Kramer goes swimming in the East River (or maybe it was actually the Hudson)...
The East River:
I've been in the Hudson on two occasions. Once very far upstate during a rafting trip. That was fine. And then once in midtown on a very drunken dare. I needed more than one shower after that to get rid of the stench.

Just stopping by to reitterate that I really enjoy some of the good pictures, especially the one above - is that an ice cow?
In either case, keep it up, this is good fun. I'll try to post one or two more another day too.

Hugh, I thought it was a big-ass diamond. It's Diamond Beach right, WHERE ARE THE FUCKING DIAMONDS?
Great stuff, keep it coming (especially the b/w).
A common misconception. The diamonds are actually under the beach. Deep underground. You just have to go there and grab a shovel and start digging. And don't stop, no matter what anyone else, especially the local authorities, says. Just keep digging. If you're still breathing, that's a sign that you haven't dug deep enough. You'll find the diamonds eventually.
Diamond Beach, incidentally, is some savvy tourism branding. The real name is Breiðamerkursandur Beach.
