I've just double checked all 160 films on my list. No film is with 400 checks or more.

Two films are at 399 checks (Shiva Baby, Executive Suite). I guess Shiva Baby is likely to pass this threshold until September 3rd, so I will remove it. As for Executive Suite, I still hope for no new checks till the deadline.

Tim, did the script show you what films it deems ineligible?

Oh, my bad. I didn't see that rule about new films.

I will edit my list accordingly.

Thanks, Tim!

I haven't updated my list yet, so that's why it has so many ineligible films. PdA's list is huge, so 524 isn't proportionally that much.

Not a big Deal ;)

Anyway... everything seems OK :

If that's ok for you PA I'll create the main Vote excel sheet with the votes & Points, ICM & IMDB info and let you make the Pivot Table as your liking & adjust the Formula for creating the Result Thread posts.

Are you interested in the Small recap of the movie and the link to the Poster ?

--> If so i would need to work on extracting info from OMDB as well and i can only make 1000 API Calls a day ,)

I don't think that's worth posting. We already have screenshots for a visual representation of the film and the small recaps can range anywhere from useless to super spoilery.

Is there a maximum of movies for an iCM list? Cause I keep getting an error message when trying to import all votes in a list for the 21st Century poll. Importing them in parts does work, and that way I did import the missing titles already.
The complete list is 7262 movies long.

Frankly I'd cut it down to a digestible number like 2500. But definitely put out a longer list rather than eschewing it altogether because the final version is so damn long.

I've created lists of 5000 movies many times with no problems (although longer lists take more time to be saved in the database). But if you want people to actually be able to open the list, 2500 is probably better.

I think i finally manage to make the Voters in a Table algorithm.

No car(13)-car(10) ... the main table is one line only.

It's 300% Safer than my Old Method. Sort by Point/Sort by IMDB... Done.
For the moment we lose the bold and italic ... but that shouldn't be that complicated to re-add theses.

What do you think ?

PA : i have PM'd you the final version with the votersv4 sheet in the table format

Everythig is calculated from the exact same "Pivot" Sheet that have been used to compute the results by the pivot table, in several Collums.

Collum N is the creation of each voter line
Collum P is the Lead line of the Table
Collum Q is the Addition merge of the voters
Collum R is the Concat Lead lines + Voters Line
Collum S is an Texte Copy or Collum R

I have created an VotersV4 sheet with only the URL and voters Collum in text format : You can rebuild/seekV the voters part from that.

You have to add the /
on the result formula, the voters sheet contains only the lines

I could add the b's and i's ... but i don't think there as usefull as before.

There are no rules yet. I think both fiction and documentaries are fine. I would exclude pure recording of sport matches only.

Looking at the polls on future polls has me wondering: do we have a proportion of new v recurring polls or are we just going to with most popular? As it stand, it seems most of the most popular options are polls we've already done, and obviously it's good to update those polls, but having some new polls is also fun, so I wonder. Also, should we just make the 0 official lists poll a yearly one? It seems like a natural fit, since it kinda gets outdated pretty quickly anyway.

I’d say every other year for that particular poll, films gaining and losing official status doesn’t happen THAT frequently.

There is a good change of that happening. It’s doing very well in the voting process, and if it is voted in again for 2022 I will set up a poll to decide if we want it to be (bi-)annual.

I've been thinking about the upcoming director's poll. I really would like to participate, but I feel like it is impossible for it to be even remotely representative of whose styles I like. Normally i would just rank based on how much I do like them (not on ratings), as that would favor directors who don't take risks. But I feel in general i haven't seen enough to be able to participate. Maybe I participate in 2022 based on how much I watch and especially what I watch.

I've only seen 2-3 movies from many directors I like. Some other directors i have seen more from are often hit or miss, or have a too safe approach which eventually leads me to rate them quite well if executed well, but from who they don't really have a signature that appeals to me. They just are good in getting the job done (Fincher for example, or Eastwood, but I wouldn't consider myself a "fan" like I am from other artists).

There's not enough time to watch more movies from directors I currently "really" do like. And I don't want to force myself to watch only one type of movie, from directors I need to continue to explore, but over time that will happen, but I won't rush it. So i'll just abstain from the directors list (just like last year).

For the directors list:
I'm willing and able to compile and post results, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do the presentation the way I've done it before. If someone has the time and inclination to do something fancy, let me know and I can hand it off to you or help you by doing the spreadsheet stuff and letting you do the presentation.
If not, I'm glad to host but with a more low key presentation than in the past.

That's no problem for me to do it once more.
Plus I did it a little differently than usual, coding something with Python, maybe it's easier if I just reuse my files from last year rather than handing the whole thing over to you and have to explain how I did it.
