Well that does it. If it's reach the point that we are getting a parody thread, I declare the actual challenge schedule finalised for next year.

Thanks Lammetje for giving me the confidence to make this decision.

This is what we are going with:

2022 Challenge Schedule
MonthCountry ChallengeTheme ChallengeTheme Challenge
January Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Liechtenstein Sci-Fi/Fantasy 1000<400
February Southeast Asia Academy Award Nominees 366 Weird + Other Weird Lists
March Sub-Saharan Africa Directed by Women New Releases
April Iberia (Spain, Portugal and surrounds) Doubling the Canon Nominees 1990s
May China/Hong Kong/Taiwan Western Religion, Cults & Sorcercy
June Nordic countries Run the Director TSPDT + TSP 21C
July Canada Unofficial Someone Else's Top/<400 List
August Russia/USSR <400 Checks One Film From Each iCM list
September Mexico, Central America & Caribbean Silent Era Travel the World
October Indian Subcontinent Horror One Film From Each Year
November Eastern Europe - excluding Russia/Poland/Czech/Slovak/Hungary Film Noir Animation
December Turkey and Caucasus Documentary Grindhouse & Cult

If you haven't had your say or don't like what this looks like, too bad too sad; you've had three days to put an opinion forward and we are parody point so this finished, done and dusted.

Can one of the mods please copy and paste this table into the Challenge Index thread?

And by "this table", I mean the one in my post... not Lammetje's one above. tehe

Based on this, i will try to participate in:
jan: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, maybe a few movies in 1000 <400
feb: Southeast Asia, maybe 366 weird
mar: not really interested, but maybe a few directed by woman
apr: maybe a few Dtc + 1990s but no priority
may: high priority for both Greater China + religion, cults & sorcery
jun: nordic countries + maybe both TSPDT's
jul: idk, maybe unofficial
aug: Russia/USSR + <400. Will see
sep: Mexico/Central America + Travel The World
okt: horror, if i don't get sick again in october.
nov: Eastern Europe + animation
dec: i will pass for these, probably focus on recent releases instead or whatever i've missed.

For this year the challenges that are left, none are high priority. Horror is a bit of a bummer since i got sick, and am still not really recovered fully again, although capable to watch movies again.

I'm curious to see what happens with the New Releases challenge... based on some previous ideas thrown out there that one has some potential.
I might volunteer to host Iberia if I have more free time during the month of April (had a couple of bonus challenge ideas too), but that hinges on work not driving me crazy like it is right now; have some stuff going on at work should be on the decline by the time next spring rolls around. fingers crossed

If someone offers you two choices: inserting a dead porcupine up your a** or watching this movie. Choose the former.

Does Moviemeter top 1000 qualify for july's someone else's toplist.

Otherwise since Onderhond has an interesting taste, i'd probably work on his list. Most of the movies would be eligible for two challenges, since there's an unofficial challenge as well that month. :p

And is TSPDT public poll eligible for one challenge? (TSPDT, someone else's list?)

I would imagine MM1000 would not be eligible.

Well if i do one of the challenges in that month, i'll probably work on Onderhond's list. :P I wanted to make from Asia an even bigger focus, so that would give plenty of opportunities.

And technically i can work on MM top 1000 list, since (almost) every movie is bound to be in someone's toplist probably. Same with TSPDT public poll.

Would the 'someone else's top list' challenge mean you have to choose one list/one person or can you watch from multiple people's lists?

Tricking the game by choosing PdA's list, thus having half of IMDb available :shifty:

Dunno. Probably something to hash out closer to the challenge. I would assume you weren't restricted to one list but maybe watch at least x number of movies from a list before going to another one?

I guess I should have asked questions before voting for it. It is only interesting to me if you are allowed choose a single user list.

Yes. That's also how I interpreted it, and I think it was put forward as such in the suggestion thread. A participant would pick a list that intrigued them and watch films from that.

PdA might have lots of new fans latching on to his much discussed and lengthy lists, haha!
That's all, folks!
