2020 edition
Nominations

The 2010s is now about 6 months over, and already feels like a complete different world. During this decade all kind of movies were made; some great, some terrible and everything in between. Now it is over, it is interesting to see what our favorite of this decade are so and how this list evolved. Which movies were here to stay, which ones disappeared over time and which ones were the sleeper hits slowly crawling up over the years.
This will be the last annual edition of this poll. We will return in again to it when we reach this decade in the cycle of decade polls.

The deadline is June 30th
  • Nominees must be from 2010 - 2019 (According to IMDb, which means the year in brackets next to the title, not the release-date in your country.)*
  • Shorts, mini-series and TV-episodes from anthology series where the episodes are unrelated, are allowed. Tv-series aren't allowed.*
*Imdb will be leading in this, but if you have good arguments exceptions to the rule can be made in consultation
  • Imdb-lists or iCM-lists are accepted. (If you can't make one of those, ask another user to help you out.)
  • Lists can be any length.
  • Each nominee can only be named once (of course)
  • Lists can be ranked or unranked or partially-ranked In a partially-ranked list, the top X films are ranked and everything after that point is unranked. When not specified I will consider a list as ranked.
Scoring for ranked lists: Half-life = 50 (since that's what we've been using every year)
Scoring for unranked lists: Every film on your list receives the same number of points (the average of what they would have received if your list was ranked).
List length will be 250 again.

Some help:
2010s movies you rated on imdb
2010s movies on a imdb list (replace XXXX with the list id)

Last year lists:
iCM Top 250
iCM Complete List
Please check if your list is stated and linked correctly. So there won't be any hassle with having to recalculate the results after we have started. Any volunteer who wants to count participants with me?

But at the bottom, the immanent philosopher sees in the entire universe only the deepest longing for absolute annihilation, and it is as if he clearly hears the call that permeates all spheres of heaven: Redemption! Redemption! Death to our life! and the comforting answer: you will all find annihilation and be redeemed!

I guess he copied it from last year. Should be 2010-2019 indeed.

Yes, thought I updated everything in the OP. It's correct now.

In 2010 I went to my first ever film festival, the NYFF, which was also my first solo trip as an adult. The communal experience of discovering great directors I'd never heard of, in the massive space and huge screen of Alice Tully Hall, is what made me fall in love with movies--what took it from a hobby to something deeper, if that makes sense.

In the 10 years since, I've racked up a list of 275 films that I truly love. Not just really like, but love. That's an impressive decade for movies. I look forward to reading others lists and discovering even more!

Ranked.

It might be fun to post stats from our lists? :)

Lowest rated on IMDb: Bridgend (5.5)
Highest-rated: Parasite (8.6)
Most votes: Django Unchained (1.3 mil)
Least votes: Small Roads (116)
Most represented genre that isn't drama: Thriller (81) followed by Mystery (49)
Most common keywords: Death (97), Murder (87), Husband Wife Relationship (82), Blood (81), Bare Chested Male (77)

Well, as long as there's plenty of blood, death, murder and bare chested men, you know what to recommend me.

Almost every list I looked at was full of 4/10s in their top 10 which made me pretty sad lol

I decided to do a list from scratch, and I just cut it off when I no longer had any feelings about the film. I have little memory of so many of these though...

Not quite finished yet, usually I just base the list on my Top 600, but there are a few recent watches I want to push. For what it's worth of course, pretty sure most of them won't be making the list anyway.

Here's my list, ranked: https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/favo ... beasterne/

This has been a fun project to add to over the years. And it's also interesting to see which films have fallen and which ones have risen in estimation over the years (since it's always pretty arbitrary and a lot of quick gut checks about which movie I like more than another).

This list is very enjoyable to read. When I saw a fair few co-favourites I gave Sucker Punch a chance and it blew me away. Your list has a great mix of mainstream, experimental and arthouse, and good to see a lot of underappreciated horror and action movies here that snobbery keeps many from appreciating/giving a chance. Gonna try to see another 3-4 before poll close.

Here is my list. I didn't add all my 8+ from this decade because it would be too long and would not feel right for some reason. So I tried to decide among my 8s who really deserves to be in here. I am sure I will see movies I like that are not on my list and be frustrated, but I am willing to live with this burden... :D

EDIT: I see some have submitted very long lists. I will think about it. Damn it...
