Cipp, I'm gonna have to break something to you, climate change is happening. This actually isn't a contentious point. I mean there are temperature measurement stations all over the earth and there have been for a long time. And the temperature is going up. If you want to do your contrarian, I know more than the experts / learned fools, far right shtick this is how the shtick actually goes. What those folks say is that humans are not causing climate change, it's caused by a variation in solar activity, and so we don't have to worry about burning fossil fuels, burn away we can't actually effect the climate. Now that isn't backed by the community of people who do the research, although sure, you can, and you have in the past identified the cranks and kooks, and start with the conclusion people on the fringe of the scientific community or scientific specialists in non-climate areas who say that man made / anthropogenic climate change is not happening; in fact I would say you are an expert in finding these people, your dedication in the area is astonishing, but you also somehow completely ignore the huge mass of scientists, 100 times larger and more qualified, who are saying the opposite. I mean the weight of numbers on the antro side is astonishing, when you think of how much money the oil industry is throwing at fake science designed to prove the oppoiste conclusion.Cippenham wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2019, 5:27 amI take it you have a different opinion x. . I thought I would read up on this and opinion is divided, some say it’s more climate, some poor forest management and done a mixture of both, there is no need to react in such a rude and appalling way. We can disagree and be polite. As far I can see opinions are mixed and there is case for saying it is poor management, even the California government agrees according to the information below.

But as it upsets you, not posting more about this.
But what you are now peddling I think is you going off the script your masters have handed to you. Because no-one is denying the earth is warming, that is measured, that is empirical, but you can deny the science, because that is all hypothesis based and the hypothesis is difficult to test. That is where your room-for-doubt contrarian buddies are camped out, the doubt about what is causing it; you can look at your hand and not doubt that you have 4 fingers and a thumb, but you can doubt me as a scientist when I tell you about the Hox genes and my theory of limb morphogenesis. However we can actually test that quite easily, and I could convince you in the end. I could show you what happens in less complicated creatures when we disrupt the hox genes. Unfortunately the planet is of such a scale that I can't conduct experiments on a planet B for you to convince you about antropogenic climate change. However there is no reasonable position where you can deny, firstly that you have 5 digits on your hand and secondly that the earth is heating up. In fact denier in chief Donald Trump is positively banking on this continuning, which is why he is making the play for Greenland.
The question that seems important is, why do you want to be in that camp. I will give you the two reasons people are usually in that camp, have a hard think and tell me if either apply to you (1) The world is a bewildering place that is constantly changing, social norms are changing, the wealth of human knowledge is expanding exponentially, it's not possible to grasp the breadth of human knowledge, and hasn't been for at least a couple of centuries. This is disorienting , anxietising, and frankly emasculating, by far the easiest solution is to pretend that all social change is the product of the devil, and all the new knowledge is nerdishness/foolishness. (2) Climate change knowledge is a pain in the rectum, what it says is there is now a lot of restrictions on your behaviour, if you fly away on holiday you are actually a bad person, or if you go for a drive in the countryside, merely for the sake of enjoyment, you are a bad person. A generation of people grew up with these freedoms and enjoyed them innocently. Now the veil of ignorance is removed, and actually you have to feel guilty all the time, and it's not fair because your parents' generation didn't have to. Solution (a) accept the new knowledge and restrict your enjoyment of life (b) pretend it's all lies. Guess which one of the two options is by far the easier... Oh and by the way the Americans you have spoken to on your travels, those ones in the countryside particularly, the guiltless travel thing is a huge thing in their psyche, it's an integral part of the American dream.
The actual californian wildfires piece confuses the issue a bit, because there are forestry management issues, and also forest fires are natural in that part of the world. However climate change certainly will increase the frequecy of them.
