Just two films again. If my math is correct, at the pace of two films per month it should take 8 years until the list is completed.
Any idea why this is taking so long? I mean I understand busy periods with the 2 big lists, but 2 films per month??

The 1000 film list? I don't think so. I think they just did one update many years ago.

Have someone forgotten this one on the Criterion list?
https://www.criterion.com/films/29513-waiting-women

https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/kvinnors+vantan/
Maybe some of the others from the Ingmar Bergman's Cinema box set might be missing as well.

The Bergman box is not part of the Criterion list.

But it does have the Criterion Collection logo in front of all movies. So seems Criterion disagrees.

If you read the thread you will see it is rehashed repeatedly.

Boils down to: If it does not have a spine number it is not included in that list.

We're missing the laserdisc releases then. All those have spine numbers.

crap - hadn't thought of that (updating spreadsheet). Hopefully someone will detail the changes here to make that a bit easier (since it appears the discussion has been held on the mods only channel). Otherwise, I'm sure I'll miss something.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was doing my month-end spreadsheet update yesterday. I'm holding off until changes are implemented.

The source links now to lists created by PA. Maybe the cutoff could be changed as well? Shake things a little bit. The 2000's list only has a mininum of 1500 checks.

I have renamed them all in the way PA suggested above. Except for Top 250, which simply became "IMDb's Top 250" of course.

I also removed "TV" from the name of "TV Mini-series", because TV doesn't fit nowadays. Mini-series can be released on other platforms as well. So that list is now called "IMDb's Mini-series Top 50".

Here are all the old names and urls and all the new names and urls.

Good change, I've always found it weird that the IMDb factor wasn't mentioned anywhere.

If you're talking about listupdate-messages: That's something Marijn plans to implement in 3.0 if you follow a list.

72a was talking about awards updates though.

So, the redirect broke one of my lists (This is supposed to be my 2010's list). Guess I'll have to edit the title before the next poll.

It should work in the beta, so you can edit the title there. You might need to know a title on it to find it, though.

I'm able to edit it just fine from my list of lists, I just found it rather funny, and wanted to let others who will be in the same situation know.

Fight Club is transgressive fiction - I don't really get how that or it ties in with Film Noir. Odd choice.

Updated. The first rule of the TSPDT Noir list is that we don't talk about replacing it.

That's cool. I know it's at least as holy as TSZDT. But I'm still a bit baffled by Fight Club's inclusion.

Terrible addition. But at least "Fight Club" isn't one of the 400 or so crummy Z-movies that are official only because of the 1000 Noirs list.

I was wondering how the percentage of official films I've seen has evolved over the years, and to do that I'd need to know the total number of official films as a function of time. I'm not sure there's an easy way to find this information (if there is, please let me know!), even the Wayback Machine doesn't seem to have it as far as I can see. So, I've gone through forum posts, searching in increments of 100 for references to the total number at any given time. In case anyone's interested, here's what I've found (and note that I've ignored the 'more than', 'nearly' , etc. modifiers since these are just rough estimates):

July 14, 2019: 15249
April 6, 2018: 15000
March 9, 2017: 14500 (I believe the drop here is due to the Brief Encounters list reduction in February)
September 25, 2016: 14600
December 17, 2015: ~14180 (a fairly big jump in a relatively short period, due primarily, I think, to the adoption of the TSZDT list in October)
August 25, 2015: 13600 (lots of new lists adopted since the last reference, in addition to the expansion of the 21st Century's Most Acclaimed Movies list in March 2015)
January 21, 2014: 12000 (lots of new lists adopted since the last reference and (I think) Walter's expanded noir list was adopted, maybe in October 2013?)
September 7, 2012: 9000
July 24, 2011: 7000

If you catch any mistakes in the list above, or have any information on past official checks totals, I'd appreciate your input - thanks!
