Week 1 Fun Stats
These stats are accurate as of 11:20am GMT on 08/03/19. My apologies if you have posted an update after this point; your viewings will be included in the next lot of statistics.
In the first week of March, we have had 22 participants in the 2019
Thinking that this Challenge is actually a Horror Challenge would be an easy mistake to make. With 10 participants having seen more than one film per day so far, we are fast on track for this to be one of the busiest Challenges this year - maybe even the busiest non-Horror Challenge. On one hand, this should not really be much of a surprise since War was by far the most popular genre option in last year's polls (out of the options not run in 2018); on the other hand, it says quite a lot that the participation here is absolutely dwarfing the other two Challenges this month considering that they are the usually popular Female Directors and French Challenges.
While the average film buff out there is still debating how Green Book
became only the third film since 1932 to win Best Picture without a directing nomination, here on the iCM Forum, everyone is rather keeping track of who will become the top 5 finishers (Oscar nominees) in maxwelldeux's Challenge Olympics.
While 72a is a clear favourite to win, we have no less than EIGHT participants vying for second place with Simba, max, jdidaco, albajos, Daviddoes, Trav, PUNQ and sebby all within 6 points of one another.
72allinncallme is absolute crushing the Bonus Challenge so far with 6 points. The next closest competitor has 1.5 points.
Please remember that in order to participate in the Bonus Challenge you need to indicate 'DTC nominee' next to your viewings.
