A gentle bump here since I think it would be better if we had a host for the Latin American/Caribbean Challenge who is actually excited to participate in the challenge.

If nobody else volunteers though, I will start a thread for the challenge in the next 48-60 hours.

I'm willing to step up here and host my first challenge.

Quick question: Should I count Belize, Suriname, and Guyana for this challenge? They don't fit into the typical definition of Latin American.

I would - they fit the geography.

You got stones, blocho. I don’t think I could handle any of the geographic debates, plus it's the same month as horror, otherwise I was considering it.
I might offer my services for italy in December as my first go at hosting unless someone else takes it. I'm half Italian...and, more importantly, i might actually have more free time then.

Unless I hear objections, I will include Guyana, Suriname, and Belize. I'll start the topic tomorrow.

Thanks, blocho. And with peeps volunteering for Italy, we actually have half of the rest of the year sewn up:

NOV Noir - ??
NOV Korea - ??
NOV Unofficial - albajos/sol*

DEC Documentary - Coryn
DEC Italy - peeps
DEC Conquer the World - ?? **

* We might have to arm wrestle over this if he doesn't want to exclude television episodes :/

** We should ask Sortile to host this one again (unless somebody else wants to volunteer?)

I'm exclduing TV, simply because it's just a handful of them that are official anyway, so until we get a TV-list they're out of this.

Oh, good. No need to arm wrestle then. Maybe I should jump in and volunteer to host the Korean Peninsula now. I should be okay for that unless things end up going really haywire at work.

I could host Conquer the World, but only if Sortile doesn't want to. Also, I'd prefer to call it Travel the World instead.

Yeah, I think I'm still okay to host Korea. We don't have a Noirvember host yet though - do we?

And thanks for that, blocho. You've done an amazing job making the Latin America/Caribbean Challenge interesting. I suppose I will send sortile a private message closer to the time, but at the moment I am just diffusing responsibility as max and I tend to do so well. :P

With my new job and a lot of life happening, I'm not sure I can keep up with hosting a challenge next month. But we have the challenge hosting template in Excel, which I can easily rebuild in Google Sheets to make anyone's life easier.

I don't have any particular interest in hosting that challenge again, at least this year, so if you or anyone else want to, go on. It can be slightly trickier than the Latin America and Caribbean challenge but I'm sure you will do a good job too. Does that new title mean you're changing the criteria from producers to settings/locations? That would certainly be interesting.

No change in criteria. I just dislike the imperialistic feeling of "Conquer the World."

I'm trying to update the header, but I can only find two threads for November-challenges so far (Unofficial and Korean). Can someone point me to the third one?

Thanks. I used CTRL-F with "November" on the challenge-board, but it didn't show up. Now it does.

Feel free to do so! :)

Do we have a host for all the December challenges? Nice!

Travel the World: Blocho (?)
Docs: Coryn (?)
Italy: Peeptoad

I can host the 1000<400 in January since it was my suggestion. If anyone have a cool idea for a bonus challenge I’d be happy to include it.

Could a mod maybe pin the latest challenges? It's a little late in the month for them to still be unpinned. ;)

Pro tip: Report a post in one of the challenges and make the request there (I've done this already, so no need this month). PA suggested that to me once upon a time and that's been my tactic since.

Is there a challenge schedule yet for 2020? Should we have an official mini-series challenge in January, since the mini-series poll will be in February?

@blocho: No - consider yourself with dibs on the Africa challenge.

Of course, the new decade*, new year, and new month in a few days means we have some upcoming challenges... anyone up for hosting? We have:

Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Balkans
1000<400
