Nobody has volunteered to take max's Challenge Series & Awards on?

I've been giving a lot of thought, and if I end up taking things on (in lieu of someone keener), I would like to simplify the leaderboard. The only things that I would be keen to track would be 'winner', 'top 5' and 'top 10' per challenge. I could assign points per column, so there is still a bit of a competitive element without it being overwhelmingly competitive (since I know that caused some issues this year). Recognising the entire top 10 of a challenge might also make things more interesting for the more casual participants who can never keep up with ongoing high monthly numbers from those at the top.

This is what I could imagine the 2021 leaderboard looking like:

So, this is the game plan:

If nobody volunteers to take over running the Challenge Olympics -- and if nobody objects to my suggested simpler leaderboard -- I'll post a "Challenge Series: 2021" planning thread at some point (not sure when) in which I'll officially announce the changes to the leaderboard from January 2021 going forward. That thread will also where we can discuss the TV episode debate. But I need more spare time before I can get a thread like that underway.

Apparently they are rather easy to generate in his spreadsheet, though with my very basic Excel skills, I have not yet worked out how. The majority of the work involves entering in the data of every participant for every challenge each month, so unless you're willing to take that on too, it might be time to shut the door on the Challenge Olympics.

All right, I didn't realise that. I guess I can give a hand in entering the results of one challenge for example? To be clearer I think it's a great project and I would hate to see it go so I'm just offering my help, I think maybe having a couple of persons doing small tasks could keep it alive?

2020's X/X Awards



This award is for those people who have watched X movies for X official challenges. The first level is easy to obtain - every challenge participant will have watched at least 1 film for 1 official challenge. But each subsequent level is harder to achieve - Level Two is 2 films in each of 2 official challenges, Level Three is 3 films in each of 3 official challenges, Level Ten is 10 films watched in each of 10 official challenges, and so on.

This is my personal favorite award. It's hard to achieve some of those higher levels, and it's only going to get more interesting as the year goes on. Level 36 is the maximum possible award currently.

Thanks for all your work with these leaderboards and awards, max! They have added hugely to the enjoyment of challenges over these last few years. They will be missed but also remembered with considerable fondness. I got into a habit of checking where I placed each month, which added to my keenness and interest.
