Hi Allinncallme,in the rules it lists:

- For Mini-Series with shorter episodes, the 60 minute rule applies.

With Fleabag being six 30 min episodes, does it count as a mini-series?

Thanks.

What albajos said. I’ve not seen the series, but since it have multiple seasons and have the TV-series tag on IMDb I think you have to go with the - 120 minutes of TV episodes counts as one entry rule.

(Now can someone suggest that challenge to be held in 2020. I think Maxwell will dig that.)

I think we decided years ago to just defer to IMDB to see if it has a miniseries tag, with exceptions for egregious oversights.

Maybe we could do an "I watched it on a screen" challenge and I could get a job at Ring so I could watch doorbell security footage all day and win the challenge and then I could get promoted for watching all that footage and make oodles of money so I can retire to Norway so I can unironically say "That challenge idea is the most Texas thing I've ever heard." :P tehe

19. Millennium Actress (2001)
20. Bridesmaids (2011)
There were some genuinely funny moments in there that had me guffawing - but there were also a lot of misses and an entire plot based around grown-ass adults who refuse to talk to each other or behave like grown-ass adults. I do not see the overwhelming positivity towards this.

21. TV (124m):
IASIP: The Gang Gets New Wheels (2018, 24m)
IASIP: The Gang Solves the Bathroom Problem (2018, 22m)
IASIP: The Gang Does a Clip Show (2018, 20m)
IASIP: Charlie's Home Alone (2018, 18m)
IASIP: The Gange Wins the Big Game (2018, 19m)
IASIP: Mac Finds His Pride (2018, 21m)
Season 13 has been awesome - and I absolutely loved how they worked in the Eagles winning the Superbowl into the show. Some great parodies, some great tackling of hot issues, just good stuff all around.

I have to admit, despite my deep love for It's Always Sunny, that I thought season 13 was the first week season. I thought the New Wheels and Bathroom Problem episodes were the only really standout episodes. I think this was the first season for which Charlie and Glenn did not serve as co-writers, and I suspect that had a big effect. That being said, obviously I'm very much looking forward to season 14.

I thought 13 had a weak start, but there were several stand-out episodes. The Boggs Ladies Reboot was hilarious - self aware to reference the trope while following and mocking its spirit. Love the Times Up and Bathroom episodes. The Clip Show surprised the hell out of me - such a fun mockery of clip shows. The two Superbowl episodes were amazing, with a huge shout-out to the near-perfect parody of Home Alone.

For me, other seasons have been far weaker than this one. But I will agree that I'm looking forward to S14.

So I'm replacing my strangely misplaced #6...

06. La chute d'un corps, by Michel Polac (1973) 8/10 Adoration, by Fabrice du Welz (2019) 8,5/10

Beautiful cinematography, and a very luminous approach to an unreasonable teen-age love...

14. Swallow, by Carlos Mirabella-Davis (2019) 7/10

Almost a psychological case depiction, but with an approach that lacks sublety. Still a very interesting subject, and Haley Bennett's talent makes it thrilling all along, too bad she hasn't had the chance to show such talent in her earlier movies...
That's what they call movies, nowadays... (13)Show
01. Rurôni Kenshin: Meiji kenkaku roman tan, by Keishi Ohtomo (2012) 7,5/10
02. The house that Jack built, by Lars von Trier (2018) 7/10
03. Nekrotonic, by Kiah Roache-Turner (2018) 6/10
04. Bliss, by Joe Begos (2019) 8/10
05. Monos, by Alejandro Landes (2019) 8,5/10
07. 1BR, by David Marmor (2019) 7,5/10
08. The Art of Self Defense, by Riley Stearns (2019) 7,5/10
09. The Wretched, by Brett & Drew Pierce (2019) 4/10
10. The Odd Family: Zombie on Sale, by Min-jae Lee (2019) 7,5/10
11. Ying, by Zhang Yi-Mou (2018) 8/10
12. Aragne: Sign of Vermillion, by Saku Sakamoto (2018) 7/10

IASIP: Mac Finds His Pride (2018, 21m)"
22. 3 Headed Shark Attack (2015)
Plot: Read the title
Review: Terrible
Rating: 2/10
Rating justification: A dude with an axe ran off a boat and jumped onto a 3-headed shark and embedded the axe in the back of the shark and held onto the axe to ride the shark like a wakeboard. Also, Danny Trejo cut off a shark's head with a machete. (Those points kept it from being a 1/10, if that's not abundantly clear by the awesomeness I just typed.)
Central theme and key message: Women are objects. But more importantly, all women are objects. Not just like regular women (who are definitely objects), but science women, who are also objects.
Theme/Message Analysis: This was really fucking weird. It's a SyFy Production, which meant it aired on TV. For free. Aimed at an audience that included young impressionable people. And it wasn't just accidental sexism and misogyny - like multiple people had to work together to make this happen. I mean, I'm not expecting anything remotely good from a film like this, but good god don't go so far into the T&A rabbit hole. We don't need the several-minute-long intro shot of the female lead scientist getting out of her wetsuit while wearing only bottoms who then stretches in oddly perfect positions before putting on clothes.
Final Thought: The movie was hilariously awful in nearly every sense of the word, but the sexism was so egregious that that's what I focused on. Wow. :satstunned:

27 Word Wars (2004)
28 Charm City (2018)
29 Dr. Feelgood: Dealer or Healer? (2016)
30 Sully (2016)
31 Support the Girls (2018)

Support the Girls is so good. Strong Florida Project vibe. Sad but not sad. Regina Hall, Haley Lu Richardson and Junglepussy were all magnetic in very specifically defined and different ways. Who says men can't write women? Always an exception. Bujalkski was the best of the mumblecore filmmakers and now it seems the best of them doing post mumblecore stuff. I might rewatch this one.

Syndromes and a 21st CenturyShow
1. R100 (2013)
2. The Heat (2013)
3. The Hustle (2019)
4. Suicide Squad (2016)
5. Daddy's Home (2015)
6. Big Hero 6 (2014)
7. Dogman (2018)
8. Ocean's Eight (2018) REVISION

9. Bad Neighbours (2014)

Image

Or Neighbors as it is more commonly known, this crass comedy begins okay with both sides privately admitting to feeling nervous and wanting to be on good terms with each other, but of course this soon fails, leading to repetitive high jinks as both sides take to making each others' lives miserable. This may have worked if the filmmakers carved out likeable protagonists on both sides, but pretty much everyone is odious. The airbags were funny though.

And this technically gives me a Bronze on the All-Time Worldwide Box Office List...

...or at least until another blockbuster makes $200,000,000. :whistling:

Well, I am probably not the right person to ask. Earlier this year I booked myself a weekend trip to Berlin just to get the opportunity to see him live. Consider me to be a ‘Bill Burr fanboy’. :P

The special was beatiful directed by Mike Binder. Probably one of the few stand up specials that got any artistic merits besides the dick and shit jokes. Probably the best looking special I have seen. It being in Royal Albert Hall didn’t hurt.

I would say that NAV (w/Atle Antonsen) is the norwegian Office)

One of the more ambitious game-to-movie ventures, this film plots extensive back-stories and much pain and suffering for its protagonists. Alas, thanks to second-rate acting, maudlin music and far too much slow-mo, the film ends up feeling like an over-the-top melodrama whenever not in action mode. The stunts are impressive for sure though; same goes for Rami Malek's striptease and a refueling while moving scene... but this doesn't really work.
