I was wondering Max, do you have an easy way to access my performances in all challenges I've taken part of please? Once again an easy way, don't bother if it's too much work for you or inaccessible. Thanks for your work!

I don't think so. There's a new kid in town doing a lot of stats. I'd like to see yours updated though.

OP Updated
Is there a way to find a list of past official challenges with winners? I can only find official and unofficial mixed, ordered by last one contributed to (which is no order at all). Just curious about the 4 I won - I found the years and have a hunch about the subjects, but I wish there were a convenient way to check.

Have all the official challenges from 2011 ->
THANKS, 72! If I didn't have my preferences set for last post first I guess I'd have spotted it.

Hehehe... I can usually get the answer to these sorts of questions pretty quickly. For your four wins:3eyes wrote: ↑October 8th, 2018, 7:19 pm Is there a way to find a list of past official challenges with winners? 1. Middle East, June 2016: 20 watches (you even hosted that challenge)
2. Russian, December 2014: 15 watches
3. War, September 2014: 27 watches
4. Russian, December 2012: 33 watches
15 watches was a win in 2014? Look at us now.maxwelldeux wrote: ↑October 8th, 2018, 9:35 pmHehehe... I can usually get the answer to these sorts of questions pretty quickly. I'd looked at this whole thing briefly before, but I didn't realise you'd actually gone back through all of the old stuff as well. Wow. Pretty awesome man.
The Challenge-Specific leaderboard links in the OP are dead btw.

Thanks! It was kinda fun going back through the old challenge threads and seeing how the challenges have changed over time.mightysparks wrote: ↑November 7th, 2018, 6:35 am I'd looked at this whole thing briefly before, but I didn't realise you'd actually gone back through all of the old stuff as well. And thanks for the reminder - it was a side effect of the forum transition, and I haven't updated those links yet. I'll move that up the priority list.

Goddamn it. I've actually been actively avoiding looking at this challenge leaderboard stuff because I knew if I looked at it too in depth I'd get sucked in. I just looked at the awards thread as well and now I'm planning out what challenges I want to participate in and what awards I want

OP Updated. Apologies for missing the update after Nov. Some interesting changes near the top...
Also, for 2019, I'm going to track rank changes so you can more easily see changes from month to month.

From spot #46 to #5 in a year's time - woohoo. I overachieved my goal of hitting the Top 20. And my Average Rank improved from 7.45 to 5.0. Without doing all the challenges in 2019 I know I can't maintain this high of a spot overall but it's nice to be Top Five even if it's just temporary.maxwelldeux wrote: ↑October 8th, 2017, 10:17 pm Methods
Pretty simple methodology - I went to the Challenges Index (thanks for keeping that up-to-date, btw) and followed links to all the official challenges. I copied the final results (usually in the first post, though there were a couple of exceptions) into Excel. I did a little data cleanup (using consistent usernames and getting the results to appear as numbers), then assigned ranks and computed scoring (details below). From there, it was just some minor Excel magic, and boom - results.
Scoring
I used a version of NASCAR scoring. Points are based on the number of participants in a challenge and the final rank. So, if there were 20 participants in a challenge, the 1st place person would get 20 points, 2nd place gets 19 points, 3rd place gets 18 points, and so on. For ties, I assigned the average of the points that would have been earned for all those ranks. So, continuing with this example, if two people tied for 4th place (out of 20), each of them would receive (17+16)/2 = 16.5 points. The person in 6th would receive 15 points, and so on. Finally, to be included, you had to have watched at least one film for the official challenge.

I think Mighty's 301 is like Joe Dimaggio's hit streak -- second place is far off and while possible, it's hard to envision someone ever topping it.
For what challenge did he reach 301?
I saved Latin, what did you ever do ?
That's a lot of horror in 1 month.

OP Updated.
I added a column with rank changes from the prior month so it'll be easier to see movement/changes.
sol leapt into the Top 5. Three new participants deputing in the table: Coryn (154), Traveller (174), and ZombieCPA (231). And Eva_L had the biggest gain, moving up 17 spots to the Top 100.

OP Updated.
Two new participants debuting: Minkin (197) and Opio (200). Welcome! 281 people on the leaderboard now.
Some pretty solid movement from several, including fori (#153, +53), Traveller (137, +37), Onderhond (146, + 33), Coryn (125, +29), and wasabi (150, +21).
And a little bit of movement in the top 25 - clearly the most important of which is me moving into the top 10.

I think I'm just going to try to maintain my status of highest overall ranking without a single win.
And knocking me out of the top 10maxwelldeux wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 1:22 am And a little bit of movement in the top 25 - clearly the most important of which is me moving into the top 10.![]()

Ye, I don't think I could ever reach it again, it was tough. It was easy with horror though since there are a lot of 60-80 minute films. I planned everything out beforehand, aiming for around 10-11 films and 14 hours a day of film watching. I let myself get a decent amount of sleep, I exercised for an hour every day, I worked occasionally, and there were 1-2 days were I was too burnt out to watch 10. So I could've done more but I didn't want to sacrifice my entire life

Can I just ask, how do you have 14 hours/day of free time?mightysparks wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 2:15 amYe, I don't think I could ever reach it again, it was tough.
