1. Pool of London 8/10
2. Chiyari Fuji 8/10
Both start off a bit mundane but get better and more complex as they progress. Both also have strong endings. They're also surprisingly similar thematically, exploring the injustices of daily life in an impactful but still kind of light and distant way. The Pool of London takes the perspective of someone suffering injustice, rather than a priviledged person having their eyes opened, and its modern(ish) setting makes it a bit more relevant, and when the two are this close that's a tiebreaker for me.

A very close match for me. Up until the last 15 minutes of Chiyari Fuji, Pool of London was sitting comfortably at the top spot.

I think we have our first official tie in the World Cup, initiating the 3-day voting extension?
Yes, deadline over. 3-day extension starts immediately so the new deadline is the end of the 24th. I'll put a new countdown in the OP.

This tie has as much tension as either movie. I can't wait for the movie version of this match-up: "A Bloody Spear in London," a movie about an internet message board with Earl Cameron (still alive!) as Funky and Leslie Phillips (likewise!) as Monty.
I wonder why monty hasn't voted.

What if it is still a tie after the extension? Will we enter the penalty section?
Zhangalan, what are your ratings and what swayed you?

If you remembered to vote earlier, we wouldn't have this extension.

Another 3 day extension? I don't remember ever discussing this, because we never had a tie before.
We could also do a short match of shorts.
Let's hope it will be decided.

there is always someone missing the deadline but a manager not voting assuming wrongly that competition is not voting, this is quite somethingPeacefulAnarchy wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 6:56 pmIf monty and zhangalan had both remembered to vote we'd still be tied,

The previous tie match thread was fun to read (It has 5 pages for just 29 votes. Those were the days!!). Like here, many were wondering what could happen after the tie aet. And Zhang had came up with a solution
