You should. Who ever heard of a manager who doesn't come to at least his own games?

There's a 2-episode version (it's the same as the 10 episode version except you don't have to listen to the ending theme 10 times). It's 140 minutes in total.

No one deserves to be on any kind of "wall of shame", it's all deliberate. However folks who don't watch non-official checks I'd put right there.

So you watched the ten-episode version just for the ending theme then?

The rules should probably be amended for the next iteration of the Cup.

Wait a second: it says 2 episodes, 60 minutes each... Are we speaking about different titles?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splash_Splash_Love
"It initially aired on web platform Naver TV Cast in a 10-episode format. It was then broadcast by MBC on December 13 and 20, 2015 in two 60-minute episodes"

Since it ays web series I'm guessing the episodes were 10-15 minutes long and then reconfigured
Oh right, the other way around. Doesn't matter. Either way it's allowed.

I was never excluded in the first place. We always allow mini-series as well in our polls, so I don't see why not here. As long as it fits the other rules.

So it's your decision then? That figures, hehe.
Going for a mini-series in the Cup is either immeasurably brave or foolhardy - or more likely, a combination of the two.

It's two hours which makes it functionally a TV movie more than a mini-series. Whether it's a good choice is a different question, but I don't see why it shouldn't be eligible.

Can you stop being an asshole? Your constant stream of trolling behavior and negative remarks about how I'm hosting this are getting beyond annoying. You've said your piece, completely ungrounded, but you keep replying it, even on the edge of abusiveness. Mjf314 doesn't deserve it and I sure as hell don't deserve it. To be honest, I really hoped you would miss the deadline earlier today, so I could have kicked you out of the whole tournament. Unfortunately, you made it just in time, just to be a teasing asshole.

Now please behave or FUCK OFF!!!

I've only watched the 2-episode version.

I think you're going to like it, monty! You like comedy, and you like time travel. It might be a new favorite for you.

Yeah, it seems to promise all sorts of goofy fun and if it ever reaches the insanity level of a Hitoshi Matsumoto effort, I might just favorite it. Anyhow, I tip my hat to you for choosing this one - you truly have nuts the size of ostrich eggs.

It's not the choice of films that's a turn off. It's the fact that I don't think I agreed with one match outcome in all of season 2. It's not fun if you lose all the time.

Oh no, I have to wait over half a year to see if my selection stands a chance in its round. So looong. My nerves.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Watched 16/48.
With 4 countries per group the results are unpredictable, and the contenders look equally strong in each group.

Have watched Budd Yam three years ago. Very good coming-of-age film with adventure element.
And I watched it before Wend Kunni. I don't think this really matters. I still enjoy the film.

I usually check right when I start a film. For miniseries I do it when I'm about to start the final episode. I'm choosing to bail out after seeing the first one cause it's so bad, so I just checked it now.

That may be true. I may be the king of self-loathing and hate fun, but I definitely won't get it out of this. It was just your very typical comedy with the whole "WHAT IS THIS THING FROM THE FUTURE" joke being done ad nauseam. Overdone to the point that it was extremely grating.

Bit of a piss-take surely to select a two-episode mini-series for a World Cup of film. Particularly in relation to such an intriguing national cinema as the one in question. I'll watch it in due course (probably!) so I suppose I'll have to hold my judgement on its merits until that time.

You can just pretend it's a film while you're watching it. It's only 1 extra click to open the 2nd episode.

Now I wish we didn't have the 180 minute rule. It probably robs us of lot of varions gems and ranting by the members

Preseason count:

Seen 8/48 (Lots of gems to go!)
Favorited 5 of those, only one I didn't really care much for. I'll give it another shot, though, in due time.

Maybe we can increase it to 5 hours next year, so anime series like The Tatami Galaxy and Mononoke can compete.

Rules in the group phase:
- You must watch all 4 films of a match before you vote.
- To vote, rank the 4 films from most favorite to least favorite. (note: you're ranking the individual films, not the countries)
- The winner of the match is the film that beats the other 3 films head-to-head. If A "beats" B, it means that A is ranked higher than B more often than B is ranked higher than A.
- If there's no winner using this method, it'll be decided by average rank.
- If there's no winner using average rank, there'll be a 3 day extension of the match hoping for new votes.
- Don't vote in this thread. Each match will have its own thread according to the schedule.

I thought 2 countries went through. From the rules it seems to say that only the winner of the group will go through.

Yeesh. I work 80 hours a week in a public service job dedicated to restoring some hope and opportunity to a society falling apart because of racial animus and social inequality.

And now I get a wall of shame because I don't have the time to properly indulge my sole remaining source of pleasure in the world?

I'm going to carry this cross like an albatross around my neck.

I was under the impression as well that the top two from each group progressed, rather as in major soccer tournaments. Perhaps Joachim can clarify?
That's all, folks!
