iCM Forum's Favorite Movies of the 1990s
2nd Edition

 Results
Image

The 1990s was the last decade of the previous millennium. Some people thought it was the end of history. But of course history didn't end. Neither did film history. People continued making films. This are favorite top 250 movies made in this decade.

Please feel free to discuss the list, the films, and any entries that you're happy (or unhappy) about, whether you submitted a list or not, but please try to be courteous when doing so. Due to the nature of the list there are many people who dislike entries, so just saying you dislike a movie or don't understand other people voting for it doesn't really add anything meaningful. Contrary it could be nice to hear from people who didn't vote for a movie but still liked it anyhow. When quoting a post with images it's best if you remove the image unless it's directly relevant to what you're posting.

Cool results so far. This was kind of a last-minute list for me so I'm glad that my votes really mattered for 247-249 (kind of shocked that the Ruiz film made it at all, I'm used to his films never having any impact). And cool that Gabbeh made it; I thought about adding it myself but it's one that is really dim in memory now and I had plenty of Iranian films as it is, most of which probably need all the help they can get.
It was the truth, vivid and monstrous, that all the while he had waited the wait was itself his portion..

I'd like to think that the new sequel caused a Candymanaissance, because the original film is so good and I'm glad it's being re-evaluated.

One of the few King adaptations that interests me, though I guess I'm more interested in reading the book.

Very exciting to see The Field and Sleepers make the cut so far. My ballot has made a difference!
That's half of the films I haven't seen so far. I do think about watching Sleepers once in a while, looks like it could be up my alley but...Barry Levinson has never really done it for me. Someday I'll get to it though.
It was the truth, vivid and monstrous, that all the while he had waited the wait was itself his portion..

If it helps to know, I agree about Barry Levinson. Sphere was pretty cool, but Sleepers really stands out for me as his single greatest film bar none. :ph43r:
