As I said before, British comedy isn't doing well. Young Ones, Blackadders, Mr. Bean...... and now the unforgivably huge drop for Monty Python. I can't take this list serious anymore.OldAle1 wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 5:43 pm Damn, steep drop for Python along with the steep drops for the Blackadders. I'm assuming most of that is just the change in the make-up of voters - wasn't here for the last poll myself so don't know what that group was like. Certainly seems more America-centric now though.
Maybe it's just a Brexit effect.joachimt wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 5:48 pmAs I said before, British comedy isn't doing well. I only voted for Python and Fawlty Towers I think; I do like the rest of those you mention, just haven't seen enough and/or haven't seen any of it since the 90s (or even 80s in some cases). Oh I also voted for Ripping Yarns but that's significantly more obscure I think.joachimt wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 5:48 pmAs I said before, British comedy isn't doing well. Truth. I'd venture to say no series has ended better.mightysparks wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 3:08 pm Six Feet Under had the best finale. Just rewatched the final scene again, wonderful.
Yay, this is probably the best thing i discovered on Netflix. I was never a fan of Aziz Ansari but this is way beyond anything in his career. Sometimes silly, but some episodes, especially from season 2, are honestly comparable to the masterpieces of cinema (on it's own, not just because he does a huge tribute to The Bicycle Thieves), and it hit me hard so many times, going into the scenes from relationships or attempts to create one, that every decent guy has experienced or can relate to, but you hardly ever see them in the mainstream.Lonewolf2003 wrote: ↑January 9th, 2021, 7:47 pm
