Watched a lot of french, eastern european and older german films, so big push for many directors of this countries. Target for next year are more asian and spanish (speaking) films.
Great start in the new year everyone.

Group ranked:

Like others, I worked this out in a very precise mathematical, statistically meaningful way. It's my own proprietary formula which I'm trying to patent, so I can't give you all the details, but I will reveal that it involves a Ouija board, the I Ching, "Dark Side of the Moon" played backwards at 1.833 speed, a door-sized poster of Farrah Fawcett circa 1978, and a 1.75 liter bottle of Jack Daniels.

Ranked list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls084075186/

I used the maxwelldeux method. What I like about having a consistent method is it lets me see what has changed since last year.

I have 82 new entrants in my top 250.

Top 5 new entrants:
13. Masaki Kobayashi
20. Mikhail Kalatozov
22. Leos Carax
41. Peter Watkins
45. Costa-Gavras

Top Risers in Top 100
60. (+65) Abbas Kiarostami
68. (+58) Samuel Fuller
37. (+43) Hirokazu Koreeda
39. (+33) Nicolas Ray
38. (+32) Apichatpong Weerasethakul

Biggest drops
407. (-222) Peter Jackson
352. (-177) George Lucas
403. (-176) John Carpenter
376. (-166) Bryan Singer
250. (-161) George Stevens

Think this is my favourite exercise in icmforum - thanks for your work on this PA.

Updated first post, I'll extend the deadline a couple of days, but I'll try to start working on things this weekend anyway so that I can hopefully start posting results sometime this week.

Since my rating system has totally failed me by growing out of my initial movie taste there is nothing left to do then go with my gut feeling.

Here's my list, fully ranked: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls073195234/

Added 14 directors to my list this year. It's an improvement, but my heart and my gut don't always agree with my math. Maybe they'll align by the end of the decade :D
It does get better each year, though, so I'm not going to change my formulas just yet.

Also, it may be worth adding the Safdie brothers to the list of collaborating directors. I've added them under Benny Safdie to my list.

First post updated, downloading the lists in a bit. I'll accept lists until I start actually prepping the presentation, so either late tonight or tomorrow. I'm anticipating results starting on Monday, but maybe earlier if some other things go quickly.

Wow Gordon, we share many of our top favorites! Fingers crossed for a neat outcome of results.
Now if you're even going to increase the Asian part ..

I haven't seen many of the titles in his filmography, but those are almost ridiculously perfect. My average rating probably is like 9/10. To direct Seppuku, 3x The Human Condition and Kaidan in succession and still be a relatively unknown name to Western film circles ..

Hoping I can start this Wednesday, I thought I had given myself enough lead time but some things came up that took priority. Now I'm busier, but in a more organized way so I think Wed is a reasonable target. Presentation might be a bit plain for the first few days, but that's better than delaying further.
