I don't understand what is supposed to be good about The Great Sacrifice. It must be somewhat universally appraised since it also managed to make the DTC. Fascinating!

them pesky urls
Special Honorable Mention: Double Indemnity, Laura - both great, but neither needs any help, and to me they're both *slightly* overrated in the noir pantheon. Lots more HMs that are mostly noir and cartoons... I still have a bit to see for this year, though at this point most of it's fairly obscure I suppose. Certainly one of the thinner years out there because of the war, though as with even the weakest of years there are always a few real masterpieces that somehow manage to get made and float to the top.

It's wonderfully heartwarming to see the Eysymont film being picked up and appreciated by so many voters. A huge thank you once again to Angel for his promotion/highlighting of the film in this thread.

Life sucks and I hate everybody and everything, but I guess I hate all of you a little less than my family, the world and my country at the moment.

Just kidding. Sort of. If you remember from IMDb days, I always seem to need to take a break for a few weeks or months once in a while, and it tends to be a sudden thing.

This English translation was a fortunate coincidence.

I teamed up with a Russian-Spanish translator some time ago and we are raking some cool movies up. Hope they find an English translator as well.
