I'm at 388 seen, including just 3 of the top 10. Looks like a lot of the ones near the top will get kicked out next year due to crossing the threshold, but I would like to for once catch up on the top of the list, and maybe try to get bronze on the 500 official list. Maybe. I guess it depends on what else I choose to work on next year.

Happy to see so many Canadian films in the list this year. Sleeping Giant making it was a pleasant surprise :)

Because our screenshots represent how a film can be viewed, I think that makes them special and candid in a way publicity shots aren't. I can't view it in 16mm and most people can't either. But I looked it up on youtube and I think you're right on this one, so I'll add it to my change list.
Now that the countdown is done, will you fix the https thing so that images are displayed properly on the forum now? Please

I will but not for a few days. I need an uninterrupted block of 2-5 hours to do the things I need to do on the server and I don't think I'll have that today or the next few days. Maybe Wednesday. But I definitely haven't forgotten and it will get done in the next few weeks at the latest.

Great job, Torgo! Your observations have added to the fun greatly.

No Misty Beethoven though... I thought that was the most likely of the Metzgers to potentially make a splash. Oh well, there's always next year.

Thanks to PA for a wonderful presentation. I have added a number of films to my watchlists and been reminded of quite a few others that I'd like to watch along the way.

You should def check out the newly restored Passing Strangers (Arthur J. Bressan Jr, 1974), I'll be championing that one from now on, think I liked it more than La Plays Itself.

How do you cross check how many of your own films made the list?
I think I can do something about that (for everyone). Just give me a couple of days.

Many years ago there was a suggestion of finding something like most influential vote votes for each person. Maybe something like which of your votes were the biggest percentage of a film's points for films on the list. That actually should not be too hard. Originally when it was proposed I thought of it as which films would drop the most if you didn't vote, but I could never figure out a way to calculate that that didn't take forever.

If your own list is an imdb list, you can compare it with the imdb version of this list using the advanced search function. That's how I do it.

Thanks so much for the countdowns, Peacy. Always nice to scroll through the results, even though I have seen so few of these movies.

I hope that sortile9io once again does his "Top Affinities" post showing which users have the most films (as a percentage) in common with each other, as seen in last year's post: viewtopic.php?p=605340#p605340. Always enjoy seeing that.
Sure, but first I think we'll have to see the runners-up.
So... 142 participants, 16413 films and 35642 votes show that:

And thanks for this great table, Sortie! Neffie is the only one for whom I show up in the top 4. I just checked his short list of nominations and the only film I've seen (and voted for) on that list is this one. Thanks for your vote for Doris, Neffie!

I think I can do something about that (for everyone). Just give me a couple of days.
If your own list is an imdb list, you can compare it with the imdb version of this list using the advanced search function. That's how I do it.
Where is the link to the IMDb list?

117 / 1000. Well, my goal was to have seen exactly 2 more than cinewest, so victory is mine.

Only 6 out of the top 50, and none of the top 10 (highest seen is Stations of the Cross).

How do you cross check how many of your own films made the list?
I went through the list and counted those I voted for on my fingers at the same time as I counted those I’ve seen.
Pretty high-tech solution, wouldn’t you say?

As for my 115 seen, I have just over 3000 checks, And there’s a lot I’m not interested in, so perhaps the ratio isn’t so bad....

Ebbywebby, clearly a random anime can't be the most annoying thing you ever try to sit through for the 366 weirdos list. I see you have the almighty Trash Humpers by Harmony Korine left, also nutty warped out anime Mind Game and that splatter comedy nonsense Tokyo Gore Hotel. Last but not least the Evangelion movie, for which it should be required to watch the series first.
Please keep us updated if the Byûtifuru dorîmâ really stayed your biggest nightmare.
Oops, never noticed this post until now.

I'm sure "Trash Humpers" would/will annoy me. I'm not much of a Korine fan. What does Herzog see in him?

Another "Weird" movie I couldn't bear: "Goodbye Uncle Tom." Just borrrrring. There are only a few films that I've ever had on my watchlist and ended up not caring to finish, and that was one of them. The only other example I can think of at the moment is Vera Chytilova's "The Apple Game."

Forty-six Weird movies left for me...the ones that interest me most include "Love Exposure," "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," "Thundercrack," "Clean, Shaven," "Dellamorte Dellamore," "Innocence," "The Butcher Boy," "The Taste of Tea," "The Triplets of Belleville" and "Wool 100%." There's a chance I saw "Nothing but Trouble" long ago, but I haven't checked it because I'm not sure enough.

I am surprised to see 74 are listed as comedy. It certainly does not seem that way to me when looking at the entries holistically.

I see that 9 of my top 10 are on the list, but that quickly drops to 15 of my top 20. I have not tried to look at my whole list, but there are many that did not make the top 1000.

There are plenty of dramadies or just more light-hearted films that don't look like comedies from afar. It's often used as a secondary genre (which is quite irritating when you're looking for actual comedies, as you usually end up with depressing stuff with a few dark giggles in between).

The Ancient language one is Nostos: The Return
And yes, probably quite a few co-productions. Also Silent movies are mostly listed with language 'N/A' (my breakdown tool doesn't count N/A entries). I might make some small adjustments to allow only counting the first listed country (although I don't know if they are always ordered in a sensible way). Heimat for example failed to fetch data (it says #DUPE#), I didn't manually clean/correct any data.

I attached the file

Like every year, I have followed this year edition of the list with interest. Thank you PA!

I wanted to know the answers on the questions stated earlier in this thread and found out that the film in my own list I watched the earliest is Vertical Features Remake. I watched it january 2010 and I don't think I have watched it since then (but I must say I remember it very clear, probably because its very consistent structure). Happy that this film also appeared at the list at #397. :)

For the other question Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird is the highest film on my list (#2) I watched because of ICM (the first WC). Think the next one is The Bed You Sleep In at #20 (Arthur). The highest I watched because of 500<400 is Comrades at #34 but this one is not on the list anymore.

Stats:
284/500
459/1000
Highest I voted for: Muddy River
Highest I did not like: Interrogation, then Kreuzweg
Highest I have not seen: Szerelem

Happy to see An Elephant Sitting Still (missed this one on my list), Yella, Hart of London, Celine, Water and Power, L'amour fou, Kummatty, Le region centrale (my #1), and other films added to the list!

I've really enjoyed the second part of the countdown. Huge thanks to PA and all others involved who have made it such a lively thread.

I've dropped from 269 seen to 251 out of the top 1000 list. I aim to work on this list once again when October has passed and can't wait to delve into the films I've added to my watchlist.

It makes me sad that https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/el+incidente/ has fallen completely out of sight from position 778 on last year's list. It's an incredibly compelling and thought provoking Mexican sci-fi on time loops and a film that definitely deserves more love! If anyone is willing to check it out I will happily watch a feature film that needs more support from your nominee list in return.

Bressan Jr, 1974), I'll be championing that one from now on, think I liked it more than La Plays Itself.

https://www.slantmagazine.com/film/love ... strangers/
Thanks so much for this fantastic news, rnilsson. It's a film that has been on my wishlist for quite some time. I tend to appreciate Slant Magazine. Many of their writers have takes that really sit well with me. I will look forward to the film, and hope to back up your support of it in future polls.

That's all, folks!

My votes (out of 800 films on my list):
58 in 500<400
33 more in 1000<400

I'm the highest vote for 3 500<400 films and 1 1000<400 film.

Other films that didn't make it :(

Thundercrack is fascinating and could use a rewatch. Haven't seen Dellamorte Dellamore in like a decade but I still remember a lot of it. Will also rewatch soon.
