This seems about right:

We share the same #1, at least until I update my list - but I think there's a good chance it'll hit 400 before the deadline FYI.

I'll fiddle with the order a bit later. Posting this early on the absurd off-chance that somebody wants to peruse my list for recommendations.
For whatever it's worth, I always check out your lists and get ideas that eventually get watched (some sooner, some much later, but watched nonetheless).
Thanks for the mention. :) I also check out everyone's list too (well not the entire list, but usually the top 50).

It's okay; I think I just need to stop promoting films when I host monthly challenges and so on; just setting myself up for disappointment if participants have other plans of what they want to see in a given month. ;)

This year is the first year I finally reached my self-inflicted list cut-off point (my list lengths are the same size as the final list) so I was able to start trimming some fat. Still not overly great in terms of movies this forum will like on mass but the more I come involved here and in other movie sites the better quality is coming into it.

If you need any inspiration, here's a list of films which have been in any of the eight versions so far that still have <400 checks: https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/500d ... ons/adamh/

Here is my ranked list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls090717598/

I still need to reorder my new additions which are currently at the end of the list but IMDB is being so slow for me today I will come back to it another time

Will I wind up with more than 5/500 checks on the list? Or LESS? Who knows!

@filmbantha:
You have some 2019er films in youre list like Bait or I see you. So even if worth to watch, this yearnot allowed.

Thanks for taking a look at my list. I love scanning through everyone's nominations as well.

My understanding was that ineligible films will be removed by the host which is why I have included 2019 films on there. It makes it easier for me to keep my list up to date f I just add new films whenever I see one that would make the cut, even if it would not be eligible until the subsequent year.

However, if this is not the case and I need to remove the 2019 films, I will do so.

At the moment #1 -#35 are ranked in order, and then there are two groups (unranked) that follow: #36 - #135, and then #136 - 200.

Thought it was just based on films with more than 399 checks, but maybe you're right.

It doesn't appear to be public. It doesn't show up in any search nor is it in your list of lists from your profile.

Our traditional 1>500<400 challenge (which is based on people's recommendations to watch for the list) is integrated into the <400 checks challenge this year.

Compared to last year three films from my top 20 have hit the 400 mark: Después de Lucía, Paradies: Hoffnung, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Daphne is the only new entry in the top 10. Here's the new version:

5 checks left until Happy End (#4 on the list) reaches the 400 mark, wonder if that is going to happen in a month?

I don't think The Twilight Zone" It's a Good Life (1961) is eligible because the series it belongs to, The Twilight Zone (1959), currently has 1,405 checks.

I don't really like that rule :( Some anthology programmes are famous and are checked by people who have seen nowhere near all the episodes. Don't think it's fair to rule out all the episodes on that basis.

Ranked.

Making an cutoff for this kind of list is always weird because at some point the films are going to get less than 1 point, but you still want to have films included beyond that point because others can potentially check out out your list and sort it by their rating and then they might remember a film they forgot to include on their own list so you can help out a film even if you're barely giving it any points yourself, but to include every single thing that you love (and also rank it) takes up so much time that you need to have a cutoff or you'll spend even more time making a list that you've already spent a significant time on. I can definitely make a 1000+ film list but I don't think it's worth the amount of time making it. My tradition is always just increasing the cutoff point by 100 each year, this is my 8th year so I'll make the total 800 for my list.

I think the rule is fair and makes sense. I'll remove the episode -- it only got in because there's no easy way to filter these out.

I think it makes sense for something like Black Mirror but not for some of the older shows with hundreds of episodes where clearly many of the checkers haven't seen everything and some of the episodes lack attention.
