Thanks to everyone who has posted their ballot so far. There is just over one week left to vote.

If you haven't added the URLs to your ballot yet, please make sure to do so. I will try to send out PMs later in the week to remind anyone who hasn't done so by then.

Unless I watch a couple more good films, Jerry Lewis's The Bellboy might make it on my list, just to cover what is probably your next most disliked as well :P
The Bellboy missed my ballot by a spot or two, nothing you can compare to Kurt Kren's or Arnulf Rainer's perversity.

I've been meaning to participate more in these. Though I always feel like my lack of cinematic depth is exposed. I've seen more than these six, but they've been low budget low-sci stuff that isn't worth including.

1. The Apartment (Wilder)
2. Le Trou (Becker)
3. When a Woman Ascends the Stairs (Naruse)
4. Spartacus (Kubrick)
5. La Dolce Vita (Fellini)
6. Psycho (Hitchcock)

I've got Mughal-e-Azam lined up for today, but that film is 3+ hours long so I might not finish it before the deadline, so here's my list. I'll edit it if there is time.

1. Inherit the Wind
2. Le trou [The Hole]
3. Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru [The Bad Sleep Well]
4. The Apartment
5. Psycho
6. The League of Gentlemen
7. La dolce vita [The Sweet Life]
8. The Little Shop of Horrors
9. Neotpravlennoe pismo [Letter Never Sent]
10. Jungfrukällan [The Virgin Spring]
11. Universe
12. Spartacus
13. Peeping Tom
14. Hanyo [The Housemaid]
15. Comanche Station
16. L'avventura [The Adventure]
17. Macario
18. Deveti krug [The Ninth Circle]
19. Ocean's Eleven
20. Chaudhvin Ka Chand [Full Moon]
Links

I was worried I wouldn't have enough good films for a full ballot, but I've seen six 1960 films so far this year and they all made it (including two this weekend).
Surprisingly for an early year (for me), it's fairly well-spread geographically: 7 USA, 2 UK, 2 Italy, 1 France, 1 Russia (USSR), 1 Sweden, 1 South Korea, 1 Mexico, 1 Croatia (Yugoslavia), 1 India, 1 Japan, 1 Canada

Comment: Did some catching up to this year in the past week, especially with French and Japanese films - still much to see especially from the latter country, and from Italy and Eastern Europe. And lots of other places. Lots of films I would have liked to re-watch also that I haven't seen in decades - Truffaut, Antonioni, Bergman and Fellini find no space here as much because I barely remember these famous films as because I don't need to give them my help. A rare year with 2 musicals in my top 5 - and even rarer, neither is American. The western and film noir are both disappearing - at least the Italians will ride in with the cavalry to help the former in a couple of years, and the latter never really goes away, just diffusing it's power and influence over a broader swath of world cinema. A relatively poor decade ahead for Hollywood if you ask me - but a relatively great decade for France, Japan, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Iran, India and a whole lot of other places, so the complaints really aren't that meaningful when all is said and done.

I'm closing the poll now. Please don't change your ballot, except if I have sent you a PM to let you know something needs to be fixed (like adding the list of URLs for your films).

Because I'm still waiting for a correction to one ballot, the results will probably be posted tomorrow evening.

Better late than never!

Glad to see a mention for The Plunderers, which I just saw and enjoyed (second greatest Pevney in my book after Foxfire), among other undeserved orphans.

Hi Ángel!

Yeah, the Pevney is a pretty gripping and rewarding one. I love the slow, quiet vulnerability of the town into which these four young disruptors ride, causing such apprehension and uncertainty. I thought the mood to the piece was really well built with night-time lighting and use of settings, as the townsfolk bear the brunt and slowly come to terms with things. Very well staged and suspenseful, and with just enough humanity and forgiveness to keep one invested in the fate of all concerned, whether respectable or troublemaker.

Glad you liked it as well!
That's all, folks!
