Note: Two ballots could not be counted because they did not include IMDb URLs for the films voted for.

All the #1s did not end up securing Children of Paradise the victory, much like I feared. The only surprise on my end is that Brief Encounters was only on 5 more ballots, and that 28% of the voters did not vote for it.

OldAle should be happy I Know Where I'm Going cracked the Top 10, and did so with a solid margin.

In terms of my unseens, I have quite a lot left in the top 40:

#21 Story of G.I. Joe
#23 The Way to the Stars
#24 San Pietro
#25 The Spanish Main
#28 Anchors Aweigh
#30 The Bells of St. Mary's
#31 Love Letters
#34 The Enchanted Cottage
#37 Nazi Concentration Camps
#38 Swing Shift Cinderella
#39 Via Mala

Of the total results, I have seen 36/57,

Never would I have imagined to see this. On the other hand, glad to see at least The Horn Blows at Midnight, also a major Walsh.

Yes, happy that P&P managed the top 10; quite a few of the votes came in after I mentioned it actually (not that I think there's a correlation). A little surprised at #1 myself - as I mentioned before it would have ranked several points lower for me had I not re-seen it recently. But even on this forum there are people who don't see or don't like a lot of non-English-language cinema, though I'm sure that on the CFB the difference between the top two would have been greater, and I suspect that The Lost Weekend would have beaten Les enfants... as well.

I've actually seen more than you (probably doesn't happen often), 41 out of 57. Of course there are several I barely remember like Dead of Night for example.

Thanks gromit!

Does anyone have the old FG results? I wonder if Children of Paradise and Rome, Open City fared even better there.

Thanks Gromit

solid if unsurprising results

Pleased that both THE WAY TO THE STARS and THE ENCHANTED COTTAGE placed so highly despite being on so few ballots... those who included them obviously rated them highly!
