All the japaneses series / OVA's...

Even if i used to watch anime a lot.. i don't really know everyone !

FLCL for me is a clear Mini Series...one 6 episodes... sounds good

Evangelion isn't .. it's 26 episodes.
I didn't vote for any 26-episode anime, but I voted for several in the 11-14 range: Kino's Journey, Serial Experiments Lain, The Tatami Galaxy, Mononoke, Baccano!, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Haibane Renmei

I didn't vote for Made in Abyss because I think they planned multiple seasons from the beginning (even though it's only 1 season so far).

After a mini-series binge I've expanded my list to 83 titles. This is a really interesting genre, but probably not for typical cinephiles. The focus is more on the story and the characters, less on the visual. It's like switching from comic books to novels.

I have revised my list.

I cut The Forsyte Saga since it was 26 episodes and I added two more titles.

I also made it Top Ten Ranked and rest unranked - which is a change also. This will stand as my final list this month.

Almost chose not to submit a ballot here since I don't really watch much in the way of miniseries, but then I realised that have only ever seen the miniseries version of my second favourite film.

I know that nominations are now closed, but I’m curious about how we should handle HBO’s The Young Pope and The New Pope. HBO has been extremely consistent in separating these two series. They have different titles, different IMDb entries, etc. They tell one overarching story, but it is really like a sequel. It’s like saying that The Godfather and The Godfather Pt. II are the same movie, even though they were released two years apart.

I would lean towards treating each as its own separate mini series. But what does everyone else think?

Yeah I would agree with you, sounds like it would be perfectly fine to count them as two separate, eligible mini-series.

If you use the filmcounter program to remove the ineligible titles, it automatically adjust the ranks. For example, if your #2 is ineligible, then your #3 is counted as #2. To remove them, create a file named ineligible.txt with a list of IMDb URLs (1 per line). Sorry for not explaining this earlier. I just noticed that it's not explained in the future polls thread, so I should edit the first post to explain that.

Edit: The ineligible feature doesn't seem to be working in version 8.2, but it works in version 8.3, so might be what caused the problem.

The maximum is 16 episodes, but you removed some series that shouldn't have been removed.

Baccano! is 16 episodes.
Jessica is a mini-series according to Wikipedia, but I haven't seen it.
Sigeuneol is 16 episodes.
Jin is 11 episodes. There are 2 seasons, but my vote is for season 1. MyDramaList and Douban list them separately, but IMDb lists them together.
Suzumiya Haruhi no yûutsu is 14 episodes. The 2006 series is 14 episodes, and the 2009 series is 28 episodes (the 2009 version included the 14 original episodes). I think all anime websites list them separately, but IMDb lists them together.
A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies has 3 parts according to Wikipedia. I'm not sure if it was originally shown in a cinema or on TV. Wikipedia says it's a film, but IMDb says it's a TV episode.
Category 6: Day of Destruction is a 2-episode mini-series according to Wikipedia, but I haven't seen it.
Justice is 12 episodes (24 lectures, 2 lectures per episode). I watched it on Youtube, but according to Wikipedia, the TV series is 12 episodes.
Century of Cinema: A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies is 16 episodes according to your chart. I haven't seen it, so I'm not sure if that's accurate. Wikipedia says that it's a film with 3 parts.

I don't think any of the series above would make the top 125, so it's unlikely to affect the main list, but it would affect the full list.

Whoever voted for Fanny och Alexander, Das Boot, and Mistérios de Lisboa, I assume they meant to vote for the mini-series. I'm not sure if you want to correct it, or just remove them. Maybe Gulliver's Travels was meant to be this version, but I'm not sure.

I didn't realize we were excluding OAVs. Personally I would include them, because they're more similar to mini-series than movies, and I think they should be included in at least 1 poll. If you do remove them, I guess FLCL should be removed as well.

OAV is just a special, is it not? A bonus episode released on DVD.

OK ...

I did use the ineligible.txt method... but remembered the Limit @15 got yo remove theses from te txt then --> action 1
Acepting the few miniseries you spotted as errors i only checked IMDB for the mini-series aspect. --> Action 2
Already PM the das Boot and Fanny voter... I'll change the Gorro for misterios Vote as well as the error is indeed obvious. --> Action 3
And finaly for the tagged OAVs..; it's just that IMDB won't say there's episode's at all for theses...

@albajos: Some OAVs are standalone.

Karas: The Prophecy is 6 episodes and standalone.
FLCL is 6 episodes and standalone.

Top wo Nerae 2! is 6 episodes, but it's a sequel of another OAV, so it should be removed.
Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Deluxe is 6 episodes, but it's a sequel of a TV series, so it should be removed.

@Tim2460: The ineligible films were removed, but the ranks of the other films weren't adjusted properly. I'm not sure what caused it, but maybe there's a bug that I need to fix.

Which version of filmcounter were you using? When I use version 8.2, it doesn't remove the films at all, but when I use version 8.3, it removes them and adjusts the ranks properly.

Edit: Actually the points are correct. Only the ranks in column AF are wrong. Did you copy those from the old spreadsheet? But it doesn't affect the list, so it's not really important.
