It's funny that I saw some of these movies a long time ago without realizing you weren't supposed to like them, in my pre-internet days. E.g. Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Showgirls etc.

I would like an "overrated" poll to have some fun, and to ventilate some anger against movies that get way too much attention. Most of the movies I hate also have sequels or prequels with equally high ratings, so I could make a long list. I would however also include some boring arthouse films.

I would be interested in a "weird movies" poll.
Go with that interest too!

The worry I have is expressed by a rewording of what the two polls mean, underrated = "I found things to like here which other people missed", overrated = "I missed things that other people found". I think stated like that overrated looks a lot less interesting. It's not always going to be that way, for example overrated could be pointing out that a film has aged quickly and badly, but I think there's a lot of that sentiment in it which is why I hardly ever pay attention to overrated polls. Someone stating that Citizen Kane is a poor film is quite boring.

I'm thinking more of films that are hyped in the media and immediately appear in the imdb Top 250 - and are still there ten years later. That success seemsd artificial to me, especially if they keep milking the formula with sequels, prequels and spin-offs.
