I'm surprised Death Proof did better than Planet Terror. I thought Planet Terror was far better. I remember my friends thinking the same when it came out. And imdb and rotten tomatoes also give it a slim edge.

These are the other films that met the 3 vote minimum but not the 30 point cut-off:

78. Tricks
79. Grindhouse
80. Sicko
81. Death in the Land of Encantos
82. Afternoon
83. Import Export
84. Charlie Wilson's War
85. The Duchess of Langeais
86. Light Work 1
87. Knocked Up
88. The Savages
89. We Own the Night
90. Cleopatra
91. Ben X
92. The Darjeeling Limited
93. Across the Universe

A few there that I definitely expected to do better.

There are quite a few surprises here for me. Hot Fuzz was a surprise #1 for me, as it embodies so much of what I don't like, but everything clicked, and I just assumed it would do better. Really happy to see My Winnipeg do so well. I hated Into the Wild, so that's a bit of a surprise top 10. And really glad to see TimeCrimes in the top 25.

And for me, Death Proof was clearly better than Planet Terror - the build in that was much better than in Planet Terror. But I don't think I even considered including Grindhouse simply because I already rated the two component films.

Can you rename the iCM-list to this?

This is consistent with the other iCM-lists of the yby-polls. After changed the name, the url changes, so please repost.

Glad to see some Spanish genre movies: [Rec] (#12!), Timecrimes, The Orphanage... and even Fermat's Room was voted, wasn't it?

Spanish-Mexican coproduction The Zone would have been a nice addition too.

I have seen all four of those and Fermat's Room is easily my favourite of the bunch. Maybe flaiky can let us know where it finished in the results when she gets a chance. :)

Quite happy about the results, though no real upsets in the top 10.

What does surprise me is the amount of highly ranked I have not seen, Lust, Caution #11) topping the list, with two other top 20 entries following suit (The Edge of Heaven,The Secret of the Grain). Not a big Lee fan, which is why I have passively avoided the first, but been meaning to see the other two for a while.

Other top films I'm yet to see:

Secret Sunshine
In the City of Sylvia
Paranoid Park
Ex Drummer

Interested in all.

Overall view count: 47/77

Most surprising underperformer: 5 Centimetres per Second

Personal top 10 entries that did not make the cut: Youth Without Youth, Margot at the Wedding.

Thanks flaiky! Lots I haven't seen - 7 of the top 25 starting with the Andersson, which I knew was well regarded but still, #3? - and most of the bottom half of the list. While I've seen almost a hundred from the year, I guess most aren't "list-worthy" when it comes down to it. I'm going to guess I'm the only one who voted for Starting Out in the Evening? Doubt I'm the only one who's seen it.

As for the Death Proof/Planet Terror argument, I've only seen the Grindhouse versions and I mostly liked the Rodriguez which I just hated the Tarantino. Hated hated hated. I think it's the beginning of my severely declining opinion of him - have only liked Django Unchained of his subsequent films and it doesn't seem as good in memory as my rating suggests. I will at some point see the longer versions of both the RR and QT films but I don't necessarily expect much to change.

Nobody gave me the hint, that I forgot the imdb links in my pool posting. So they didn't count. That is a bit sad. :(

Saw 20 of the top 25 (voted for about half of them), and quite a few others.

My Winnipeg highest on my list to see, but Izgnanie will probably be first, since I just bought a copy.

The 2007 year end poll was the first poll I participated in CFB. Too bad I didn't save the result. No Country for Old Men was the run away winner. I don't remember the rest in the list, but I believe There Will Be Blood probably was #2, or could be Eastern Promises since that was a popular movie among the CFB group. No Country & There Will Be Blood were the only 2 movies that year I saw in the cinema. Back then I like There Will Be Blood, but did not like No Country for Old Men at all. Kinds of pissed off leaving the cinema. I still like There Will Be Blood, but not as much as before. After many revisits once I understanding the movie, I now love No Country for Old Men. Ironically, running the poll now 12 years later, There Will Be Blood is #1 and No Country For Old Men is #2.

Too bad Michael Clayton isn't rank higher. It is one of the best suspense drama in this century. That was Tony Gilroy directorial debut. He was mainly a screenwriter before that. His follow up to Michael Clayton, Duplicity, was another excellent movie.

Glad to see some wonderful minor films made the list like The Visitor, Mr. Brooks, and a very underrated Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. 2007 was so good that I had to exclude many good movies in my list.
