I am truly confused. Jean Renoir's A Day in the Country is now listed as 1946 on IMDb. Wasn't it always 1936, or am I going crazy?

Not including A Day in the Country for now, as I'm pretty sure that's just an error on IMDb's part. Here is my ranked list.

The 1940s were a great decade. I don't give out 10 ratings (IMO essentially perfect films) like candy, and this decade has 10 of them:

A Canterbury Tale (in my top 10 of all time)
The Third Man
The Lady from Shanghai
Odd Man Out
Late Spring
Bicycle Thieves
Brute Force
At Land
Meshes of the Afternoon
The Wolf Man (severely underrated and a masterful classic horror)

I see that Gun Crazy is listed as 1950 now, that one has gone back and forth between that year and 1949 on IMDb if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure this came up in the 1930s poll. I don't remember the outcome, but I think it was eligible for that one, so if it was, it shouldn't be eligible for this one.

French Wikipedia says it was shoot in 36 but released only on 1946.

To me it shoudn't be eligible for that pool.

Seeing over 100 participant on the <400 list/thread i wonder how many people usually participate on pools like this decenal thread : maybe people will join later during the month :)
Was surprised to see people releasing list very fast : it's the power of people that have used IMDB and Ranking in general for years/decade.

I mean, I'd guess you're going to get nowhere close to that, but 50-60 might be reasonable.

And I'm one of the "last minute" people - I maintain a favorites list, and will just filter that for movies from the 1940s and submit it here right before the deadline so I don't have to maintain two lists.

A ranked list. An embarrassing number of English language titles. I have The Arsenal Stadium Mystery as a 1940 picture but imdb has set it to 1939. I have included it but feel free to exclude.
