I'm really enjoying these extra stats, joachimt. :poshclap:

Oh, and nice to see something else that I agree with TraverseTown on.

I guess then that I am predicting myself as solo voter for $9.99, Coonskin (looking at some of the massive drops for last time) and... I don't know what.

Could I really be the only voter for Faust with Svankmajer's other features getting ample support? Or could I be the only voter for Takahata's Panda or Goshu? I guess only time will tell. Boy, do you ever have me interested in the results now! :pinch:

It's weird how this one remains under the radar.
It's a direct stylistic predecessor to Ghost in the Shell, a bit smarter still, very relevant still. Superb animation quality, superb Kawai soundtrack. And it's not as if the Patlabor franchise is incredibly obscure.

Good to see a Wan Laiming show up. I adore those exquisite animations that came out of Shanghai Animation Film Studio.

It wasn't good enough for me to add to the list, but it's essential vapourwave cinema.

I just love the look and aura of The Flying Luna Clipper so much. There's certainly nothing else like it on the list.

Does the Munchausen film really have much animation in it? I don't recall.

I guess it is debatable. However, RYM considered it to be an animated film. The people are real but the backgrounds and creatures are cutout animation.

I would have voted for this but didn't consider it animation. I guess it kind of is, though.

One movie from the old top 250 didn't receive a single vote this time:
#220 The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore
I wasn't around for the last poll (joined the month after), but this should have been on my list, as it's one of my favourite shorts. Just doublechecked, so there must have been an error (either I forgot to tag it as animation, or the listhelper script had a blip). :(

If anything, this list is the perfect incentive to catch up with some unseen shorts.

Let's hope people don't watch Please Say Something because of this list. It might even end up on 500<400 and become the next External World.

Can't speak for the others, but you don't have to worry too much about me supporting any of these shorts.

Such low quality that it makes me wonder if the list should be much shorter.

That 5 checks movie is on Youtube, btw:
What a fantastic and peculiar movie. The computer graphics are absolutely stunning. It was made with the Japanese computer MSX, so it reminded me a bit of the animations coming out of the demo scene, but being from 1986 it rather predates demos as the scene was then still connected to the warez scene and its output mostly concerned with short cracktros. It only reminded me of visual novels like Snatcher (made with the MSX2) and click and point adventures like Monkey Island I & II and Flight Of The Amazon Queen.
The movie references the pseudoarchaeological lost continent of Mu, which played a huge part in The KLF (aka Justified Ancients Of Mu-Mu Land) mythology shortly after 1986.
I hope this will made it to 500<400 (it'll certainly make my ballot) and DtC.

Totally love how this poll ist done, with all the stats and diversions in between. Great show! :worship:

But at the bottom, the immanent philosopher sees in the entire universe only the deepest longing for absolute annihilation, and it is as if he clearly hears the call that permeates all spheres of heaven: Redemption! Redemption! Death to our life! and the comforting answer: you will all find annihilation and be redeemed!
