Aha, our man in dvdclassik. Bump your thread there and get a 13th nomination. ;)

Btw, Oasis is ineligible.
I'll just do that. :D
In the meantime, I'm replacing Oasis with Five Star Final, by Mervyn LeRoy (1931)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0021873/

A great pre-code on the cruelty of newspapers... Still very relevant today, one would just need to replace the papers with FB or other social networks...
I may just watch that tonight.

The first four are a mixture of ones that I've nominated in the past that have fallen just short of the mark (two times due to me not remembering to vote in once case (D:) ) a couple that have been restored and re-released in the last year for cinephiles to lap up (The Mafu Cage and Acht Stunden), the inexplicably eligible A Shot in the Dark, the most timeless short of this millennium (False Aging) and some cine-absinthe from the old days (Camille, La nuit fantastique and Zacharovannaya Desna), oh and why not try and get another Straub & Huillet onto the list (it's a goodie)?

I have only got 1 film across the line in each of the last two iterations, and am hoping I am boxing slightly smarter than usual, I checked a couple of years of results to see if I was gonna be putting stuff forward that had no chance. Inexplicably Cesarée gets bad votes every time it's put forward, despite being the greatest short film in my book anyways. I have probably messed up again, but one can only keep on trying!

I manually created a list and then used this to check it https://www.imdb.com/search/title?lists ... my_ratings. If you put your noms in an IMDb list and put in the list identifier where it says lsxxxxxxxxx in my link, it tells you if they are eligible (the ones that aren't will disappear). This is if I got it right and you have to cross check vs TSPDT The 1,000 Greatest Films (2019), TSPDT The 21st Century's Most Acclaimed Films (2019), the already nominated this year IMDb list and DTC 2018 (and remove any post Dec 2017 released films).

Deadfall (1968 - Bryan Forbes)
The Pumpkin Eater (1964 - Jack Clayton)
Le soulier de satin / The Satin Slipper (1985 - Manoel de Oliveira)
Meandre (1966 - Mircea Saucan)
A Shot in the Dark (1964 - Blake Edwards)
The Mafu Cage (1978 - Karen Arthur)
Acht Stunden sind kein Tag / Eight Hours Don't Make a Day (1972 - Rainer Werner Fassbinder)
Klassenverhältnisse / Class Relations (1984 - Danièle Huillet, Jean-Marie Straub)
La nuit fantastique / The Fantastic Night (1942 - Marcel L'Herbier)
Zacharovannaya Desna / The Enchanted Desna (1964 - Yuliya Solntseva)
False Aging (2008 - Lewis Klahr)
Camille (1936 - George Cukor)

Anybody care to elaborate what are the odds for Bava making it here? I love him but the poor results from last years are discouraging.

Pretty low I would think. Genre films in general don't do very well, do they? Though horror/giallo probably has better chances than the classic American cartoons I've nominated in the past which always seem to get killed.

Best to nominate difficult European or Asian arthouse stuff with 1-10 checks/under 100 IMDb votes and not readily available, at least not with subtitles, if you really want to get stuff onto the list :o

Ok, I need to swap mine out for George Lucas' home movies then.

PA, please also make note of the titles in your IMDb and iCM nominations lists that aren't yet listed on the respective sites, usually they were added in the description, and often times some good souls will have submitted the missing titles to the two sites by the time the voting stage is under way. In my case they would be those two:

Incidence of Catastrophe (Gary Hill, 1988)
Samouraï / Samurai (Johanna Vaude, 2002)
updated. I actually had put those in the description, but I forgot to click the little checkmark imdb now requires you to click to save changes.
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/inc ... tastrophe/

I just added "Incidence of Catastrophe" to IMDb (and then ICM).

Didn't know you could nominate non imdb films, this short would have most likely been a contender for my list if it had an imdb page: https://movingimage.nls.uk/film/6217

Do you reckon it would be easy to add, Ebby? Seems like most of the info is there.

M mistake then. I was looking at Art’s list and the noms list and thought they were mutually exclusive.

All eligible, but apparently not all of them are available with English subtitles (1,2,3,6, 10) which greatly reduces their chances. Don't get me wrong (I myself like a lot e.g. Ipsen's Cafe Paradis or Staudte's Rotation and those that you mention seem very attractive), but maybe it would be smart to consider some replacements.

Hello Angel! Lovely to be at DtC time of the year once again.

Here are my 12 nominations:

'Besættelse' / 1944, Bodil Ipsen / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0125672/
'Zhila-byla devochka' / 1944, Viktor Eisymont / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037479/
'Xue ran hai tang hong' / 1949, Yue Feng / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0194565/?ref_=adv_li_tt
'Djevojka i hrast' / 1955, Kresimir Golik / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048000/
'Il mare' / 1962, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056223/
'Herrenpartie' / 1964, Wolfgang Staudte / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058190/
'Passacaglia y Fuga' / 1975, Jorge Honik, Laura Honik / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5972480/
'Pandora's Mirror' / 1981, Shaun Costello / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082879/
'Un été inoubliable' / 1994, Lucian Pintilie / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111546/
'Le cou de la girafe' / 2004, Safy Nebbou / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387952/
'Westen' / 2013, Christian Schwochow / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2476552/
'Blue Jay' / 2016, Alex Lehmann / https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5912454/

Hope these films are all eligible!

I'll stick with these twelve, I think. I think there are subs available for Ipsen's stark masterpiece of desire and Safy Nebbou's beautifully touching and tender little tale.
That's all, folks!

Question:

In the first post here it says that the deadline is March 18th, but in the top of the homepage it says DtC Nominations (Feb. 28th). Which is it?

Huh. Hadn't heard of "Dr. Plonk" before. Sounds like something I'd watch.

birthplace http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0216879/
losing ground http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084269/
DtC #483 and holdover, respectively.

Then Song of sparrows and Robert Frost a lover's quarrel with the world?
shit, i think i may have even nominated birthplace last year.

but yeah, replace with sparrows and frost.
And Black Roots is another holdover so I'll take Do widzenia, do jutra...
