iCM Forum World Cup Season 3 - Round 3 preparation

Let's have a place to prepare round 3 of the World Cup. In this OP I'll list all the decisions about how round 3 will be done. You can also use it to discuss countries and possible choices, but managers shouldn't post their selected movies here. Instead they should PM them to me.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR MOVIE: December 30th
Countdown till deadline

Decisions about round 3:
- 4 matches of each 2 countries.
- Countries won't be competing the same country as in round 1.
- Pace will be 2 weeks per match with 0.5 week overlap.
- First match starts January the 2nd.
- Country with most #1 votes proceeds to semi-finals. In case of a tie, there is a three-day extension.

Guidelines for managers to choose a movie:
- Less than 1000 checks (at the moment the movie is picked).
- Maximum runtime of 180 minutes.
- Only one movie per director for a country in the whole season. A director with movies in multiple countries can be chosen for once for each country.
- No movies from season 1 or season 2.
- Coproductions are allowed, but with an explanation why a movie certainly belongs to the country it competes for.

Countries that won their match in round 2, so they'll proceed to round 3:
A: USA (The Last Command, filmbantha)
B: Greece (O drakos, tommy_leazaq)
C: Germany (Das Kaninchen bin ich, Lilarcor)
D: Burkina Faso (Tilaï, hurluberlu )
E: England (10 Rillington Place, funkybusiness)
F: Poland (Miejsce urodzenia, sebby)
G: Japan (Buto to gunkan, monty)
H: (match not over yet)

At the end of match 2G we had some discussion about pots and restrictions. I asked two questions:

1. Should there be pots based on previous results (R2 or R1+R2)? Yes or no.
2. Should there be a restriction on countries competing the same country as in R1? Yes or no.

You can still vote on these. Just answer yes or no for both questions by posting. If you already posted in 2G about this, no need to repeat your vote. I got your vote already.

And in the (unlikely) event that Hong Kong makes a comeback, it was already beaten by England.

1. Should there be pots based on previous results (R2 or R1+R2)? Yes or no.
2x yes, 13x no

2. Should there be a restriction on countries competing the same country as in R1? Yes or no.
11x yes, 4x no

So I won't be making pots, but I'll make sure countries won't compete to the same country as in round 1.
