“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

Three #1s would have just done it. It's 100 points, right?

Last time, 280 points was enough to enter. #437 had 297 points. But the half-lifes must be different.
In 2015, 290 points made the cut.

So excited!

I am also curious to see whether I go up or down in the rankings/closeness to getting Bronze with the new update.

So far I have only seen one film that has made the new cut. :ermm:

Would be very inconsequential if this year suddenly a different half-life is used.

Then movies would lose points if no new voters come in to vote for them?
I guess the minimum score mus be rising because more people watch these and put it on their ballots.
But that wasnt true last year.

It is a little sad that a film in 7 official lists can't get 400 checks on icm

Especially La region centrale in my opinion. As a 30 minute short it could have been acceptable, but at 3 hours it is unwatchable.

I was curious about this, so I looked at the current edition.

On the current edition:
There are 17 movies on 7 or more official lists.
6 of those are above 400 checks.
Among the other 11, there are 3 below 300 checks:
http://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/tiexi+qu/
Not surprisingly because of its length.
http://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/linhumaine/
Because it's a silent movie? Can't see any other reason why it is underseen.
http://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/a+married+couple/
Because it's a documentary?

The same sentiment could be proposed for many masterpieces (especially long ones). But it would result in those films losing their souls. Atmosphere, experience of time/place, would be completely altered if it was 30 minutes.

Married couple is the most un-documentary film with that tag though.

I don't know if it is a particularly easy film to locate; I managed to find several of Allan King's other films on YT during the Canadian Challenge, but this one remained elusive to me. It has never been released on DVD or VHS over here and I'm not sure how many releases it has had beyond its Criterion (or was it Eclipse?) one.

It's a masochism with purpose; once "been there, done that" is finished, you feel nicer.

I wonder if some currently unofficial movies will make the cut. It seems pretty hard this year for movies to get in and unofficial often means underseen, so the chance of getting enough votes is very small.

unofficial also means promoted extra in the personal lists of participants, so I still like to think (see) quite a lot of unofficial entries

Haven't counted, at a glance I wouldn't say quite a lot but certainly some.

35 movies have dropped out because of the 400-roof

but there are still 748 movies and shorts in 3 lists or more still under 400. And countless (i'm not counting them) with 1 or 2 checks.

So unofficial movies have many movies to pass to get into the list. But a regular unofficial poll could get more of them into this list (and out of that poll :p )
