I'm still waiting for Ettie to start the Most Mediocre English-Language Movies nomination thread.

A couple of questions that I'd better ask now rather than at the deadline for the Action poll:
  • I don't have Excel on my pc. Can this also be done with OpenOffice?
  • I want to make a start with gathering screenshots before the deadline. Do I save them on my hard disk or is a list of URL's sufficient?
  • Is the OP of this thread up to date?

How do you guys feel about starting the Action Poll countdown a bit later? The 500<400 results are delayed somewhat and, from what I've understood, 501-1000 will be posted afterward. I reckon that it's better to wait with the action results until we're done with 1000<400.

Peacy, how do you sort numbers by value in OpenOffice? It looks like my filmcounts.csv is going in the right direction, but when I try to sort the scores from highest to lowest, I get for example 90, 8, 700, 60 (alphabetical I guess) instead of 700, 90, 60, 8.

I don't use the filmcounter program, but when I run into issues like that in Open Office I copy the column into a text file then copy it from the text file back into open office and it removes whatever extra formatting is there confusing the program. Otherwise, if you PM me the file I can fix it for you, though not for a few hours.

To me this sounds like the numbers are stored as text. Select all the values. Rightclick and go to properties or whatever, so you can mark them as numbers. At least this is how it should work in Excel. Don't know about Open Office though.

Ok, I'll PM you the file. I tried a few things but it was all in vain. How do I send a file by PM?

Yeah, that's how I would do it in Excel at work. Unfortunately OpenOffice is a piece of shit and I don't have Excel at home. :(

Next month two polls are scheduled:
- Favorite directors
- Favourite Thriller/Suspense

In what order shall we do it? Maybe it's nice to end with directors as grand finale of the year?
In that case we can set the deadline for Thriller/Suspense around the 10th and Directors right before Christmas.

PA, are you doing directors again?
I can do Thriller/Suspense if nobody else wants to.

I made a master-list of screenshots for future polls. I combined all screenshots of the latest fav-movies-poll, all the 500<400-polls, all polls ran by me and all polls ran by Lonewolf2003. The result is a spreadsheet of 4253 imdb-urls with screenshot-links. It can be easily used to add screenshots to any results-sheet. If anyone needs it, let me know.

Maybe this info can be added to the OP of this topic?

If anyone has more sheets of poll results, please send them to me, so I can add them.
