@oOldAle1,

Totally agree with your take on Cruise.

As for Minority Report, I thought the idea was good enough, but I didn't care for the treatment, and I don't even remember if I made it all the way through.

Saw it in airport hotel in Costa Rica, and remember wondering whether I should stick with it the entire time in the hopes that it would become more interesting.

Great work as always PA, thanks!

I hope someone maintain a IMDb list for both the main list and runner ups..

Forget Cruise, what gives Minority Report emotional heft is Samantha Morton. Where's she been?

Wonderful job, PA!

Next year I'll try to help some films in the 1,001-2,000 group.

Minority Report is such brilliant science fiction. Everybody stating something else, is just a n00b on that field. :P

Thanks for posting the 1000's. As there are almost as many interesting films there as in the actual list.

That was the last time I voted for this. A funny flic, awesome when I first saw it about 20 years ago, but the last time I watched it I cringed a bit too often.

Three Times deserves better. It's still my favorite by Hou, though I haven't yet seen City of Sadness.
Close call between Three Times and Millennium Mambo (which I have slightly higher). I did my part though ...

Is it because some "obvious" people haven't seen this one yet (Carmel, Maxwell)? I get it's not the kind of film that is everyone's favorite, but there's so much joy and pleasure here that it shouldn't be too difficult to find more than 3 fans for this?

Edit: maybe it needs more kick-ass women? I mean, Asano and Hashimoto as husband and wife ...

Late 90s - early 00s is clearly my favorite Tsai/Hou period. Goodbye Dragon Inn is also really nice, have to rewatch Dong and What Time Is it There because it's too long ago, but they also got 4* ratings.

Good that you mentioned it as the front page reserved posts have never been filled with stats since 2014

Anyway, is there an IMDb list available for Winners 1000/Runner 1000? I need to update one of my lists.

I'm going out on a limb here: Did people vote for this movie on purpose, or did they mean to vote for the Buster Keaton movie?

I'm going out on a limb here: Did people vote for this movie on purpose, or did they mean to vote for the Buster Keaton movie?
Normally I'd say monkeys always improve a film. I mean, look at movies like The Circus or The Cameraman--the monkey bits make the film! However, I wasn't a huge fan of the monkeys in Go West. Dressing up monkeys in little outfits and making them act like people doesn't really trigger my funny bone.

Oh, no, they intentionally vote for this. I don't get it, but, whatever..
