https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/com ... +may+1940/

This short has been released on blu-ray: Pioneers of African American Cinema (5 Discs) [Blu-ray] However:
Commandment Keeper Church, Beaufort, South Carolina (excerpt, 1940)

The excerpt is only 15 minutes long. The runtime is 42 minutes, according to imdb and Daniel Eagan's book on the films selected into the NFR. Is the entire short film available, or is checking the excerpt only enough to consider it a check?
There's some discussion of this here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1180&p=506390&hilit ... er#p506390

I remember this well and my personal decision after reviewing the PoAAC disc set again, the film/excerpt in question, and supporting documents was that is a fair check. My main reasoning is the excerpt is what is actually being preserved by the Library of Congress, the source of the list it is on.

At this point I don't remember the disposition of the remaining footage, but the "official" preservation team's decision is good enough for me.

No, I was just saying you could curse me out on that list too. Then again, in Pre-Code, you see a lot of men in boxer shorts, so there's that.
