I got an Invite to try it out during BETA testing. I'm not sure how it is going now, but I closed my account at the time. It's way too slow and feels WAY to crowded. ICM is awesome because it feels small, homely and has a real sense of community. Plus It's simple.

Joining Leterboxd, I felt like I was betraying a great website. Which is why I closed my account.

I finally got the login page to work (kept getting a "Are you sure this is the right place?"-message...!).

Anyways, here I am.

Good work! Only you had to do it in reverse order since clicking "newer" takes to "older" years ;)

I do love this site. Makes the diary aspect so much easier. Anyway I gathered a list of the people that posted the link to their account. Would be nice if more people posted theirs.

I really wanted an invite and got one after two days or so after discovering the site but then I never used it.

That's so typical me. I get myself excited over things but then when they happen I'm like meh.

I did pretty much the same thing. Got an invite then barely used it. I'm happy with iCM. Might try it again one day.

I grabbed a pro account a couple months ago so I could import my ratings, but it's so much effort to back through and date them all for the stats. I watch too many movies :'(

In a desperate need for accuracy and perfectionism, I am now going through and adding the dates for all films :( Just doing 2012 and 2013 for now. I like the year in review stats.

Going crazy here...!

Imported CSV file I got from ICM and uploaded to Letterboxd and there is ONE film missing! Don't know why or what it is, but am going mad!

http://letterboxd.com/jcs_/ = 1930
http://www.icheckmovies.com/profiles/jcs/ = 1931

Why are they not the same?!?

Is it possible to export the list from Letterboxd? Then you could easily check which film is missing with Excel.

Yes, you can!

How would I then compare the CSV files to find the missing film??

it's probably just something that's not in Letterboxd's database. I think they use a different source (not IMDB). if that's the case, it'll probably be one of your rarer checks, so they could be worth checking if they are on letterboxd.

as for comparing them, depends what info is in the csv files & whether they use the same naming strategy. if they both use original title you could just line up the two lists alphabetically in excel and find where they misalign. might be tricky if they differ.

Ah, I found it.

Bloody Harold and Kumar In Amsterdam wasn't in their database!

Added it now, the world is in balance again. :)

So I went crawling back recently:

http://letterboxd.com/james_r/

I will say, it's prettier-looking than ICM but JESUS FUCK when the "gremlins" go to work—as they've been doing continually all night for me, and regularly over the last few days—it's a debacle of a thing to try and use. I can't remember when I last shouted the word "fuck" quite so many times as I have tonight trying to make it do what it's supposed to. ICM almost never gives me this much grief.

I tried it again yesterday for the first time in a long while as well. Really slow at loading images. I dunno what's going on there, but I don't really feel like wasting hours and hours of my life trying to find out. I just left.

Seems to have been a general issue last night. They've apologised, but that doesn't really help much...

Here I am! (rock you like a hurricane) http://letterboxd.com/Sirea/

I enjoy Letterboxd, lists are interesting, the website is pretty and the diary is useful. Also it is great to write and read reviews

BUT

They have serious problems with "errors", the website gets down a lot and those Gremlins come more often than one would like.

Some of my real life cine friends are in Letterboxd and that site looked slick as well. So thought of checking it out..

http://letterboxd.com/tommy_leazaq

Since importing rating was a paid feature, I thought of adding movies one by one . And got tired after two movies  . I'm not seeing myself becoming a regular there..

It's nearly impossible to make lists on MUBI anymore. It's hard to make lists on Letterboxed because it's difficult to read the titles when everything is a movie poster and not text. But I guess it depends. Some lists work on Letterboxd.

And remember how adding films looked like few years ago? For a film to show up it would take 6 months. On Letterboxd it appears instantly.
I bet they realized how many members they lost just because of that, and then reduced waiting to 48 hours.
