At least you already watched Citizen Kane, the best movie in the history of cinema, you can stop your quest, you've seen it all!

Hopefully we've finished this project before you finish uni, so you know where to start. ;)

I hit 50K on IMDb the same day as Soulone on ICM? Interesting coincidence. I knew it was gonna be around teh same time but the same day is too much. Already send them a congrats. Soulone is silently resolute.

TinaS97 wrote: May 29th, 2021, 9:33 pm Hi guys, I've had my ICM account for like 2 years (closer to 3) and I've just joined the Forum since I'll be graduating from uni soon and I'll use the free time to watch more movies (mostly classics which I've never seen. I feel so far behind!).

Right now I'm at position #13621, feels so low compared to all of you, but it's alright!
Welcome! I’m around #2300 and I also feel far behind many on this board in terms of breadth of film viewing. But it’s a very friendly community and everyone is always happy to share their love of film.

I recommend checking out the Lists and Projects subforum, and participating in the list creation and results threads there. It’s a great way to get recommendations from the community for more films to watch.

Thanks to Mr. Miguel Ángel Álvarez, I watched the most official checks I've seen in one day since... well, maybe ever, but at least since I went through a bunch of Lumière shorts 3 or 4 years ago. And I jumped 3 spots, which hasn't happened in a long time, to a new high of

Image

I do not expect to get any higher for a while; the person right above me currently exceeds my total by 83, and the next one up is 50 more ahead. And Cinephage has overall been pacing above me so I may drop back a bit. With my particular viewing patterns I think I'd have to do some more shorts marathons to get any higher before the end of summer, barring top users going dark or just not being active anymore.

It's been a while since I updated this thread. I'm continuing to watch official movies in all sorts of different genres. This is also a new high for me as I continue to climb the ranks, and I really hope to be in the Top 2000 by end of year.

Took me another 18months to climb from ~225 to ~200, no country for old men.

I don't know what changed. I was stuck in the 120s for what seemed like years, and all of a sudden I'm rising. Another all-time high.

2618 (and soon 2614?) !

Other forum members I will likely overtake in the next couple of months:

Coryn 2524 (23 official movies behind)
Wonderful Rainbow 2435 (49)
Panunzio 2417 (56)
Opio 2297 (98)
beasterne 2285 (103) <-- less likely, we've been checking films at the same pace lately

Sounds like a challenge! The only goal I've been shooting for is to be sub-2000 by the end of the year, which requires 101 more official watches at this point. But if I stay at my current pace I may be able to hit more like 150 by year-end. And if we make this challenge official I may be motivated even more :guns:

I didn't feel like interrupting your pretty cool duel, but yeah things like Anthology Archives, Annecy and most of Amos (the short film trifecta called AAA) would be too cheap to win. ;)

My ranking must have reached the 29x region (through a pack of couple-minute-shorts :P ) but didn't update yet. Let's see if I'll find a Zack Snyder pic for that too.

Deal, although I might watch the occasional short if it's on a list I'm actively working on. Nothing egregious though.

Also, how even is this matchup?!
