Some Plats of note: All-Time Box Office, 100 Sci-Fi, Ebert, Empire 500, 1001BYD, Annecy, Empire World
Out of curiosity: Which are the unavailable movies?

I'm not sure the names, but Kubrick is the English TV film, and Docs is U2 concert.

Yeah. Siege of Manchester for Kubrick. And a U2 3D concert movie for Docs. Really annoying for my completionist self... hate looking at Progress tab and seeing 1 missing.

No Platinum awards yet.

1 - Anthology Film Archives' Essential Cinema - #274 (I watched a lot of the short silent movies to gain official checks)
2 - Contracampo's Top Brazilian Cinema - #381 (I am Brazilian)
3 - Polish Film Institute's 100 Years of Polish Cinema - #431 (Went to a movie festival with lots of classic Polish movies)
4 - 1910s - #468 (I'm not as averse to watching silent cinema as most people, I guess)
5 - Silent but not Forgotten - #475 (See above)
6 - The Top 300 Silent Era Films - #482 (See above)
7 - Action - #614 (Watched a lot of the 101 Action Movies to See Before You Die, unofficial list)
8 - Guide to Africa Cinema - #715 (It's crazy that you only have to watch 2 movie to get this far in this list)
9 - Ain't Nobody's Blues But My Own - #729 - (Mostly those silent shorts again)
10 - 100 Documentary Fims - #762 (Ditto)

It's not an especially interesting question in general. ;) And answering the question minus platinums doesn't make any sense to me.

Me:

#1 on Annecy Festival's 100 Films for a Century of Animation, Best Cartoons Ever - A Gift List From Jerry Beck and Shorts (all ties, of course). My only platinums. Then...

Brief Encounters: #14
Anthology Film Archives' Essential Cinema: #25
Amos Vogel's Film as a Subversive Art: #26
366 Weird Movies (Certified Weird): #29
100 Documentary Films (BFI Screen Guide): #59
Harvard University's Suggested Film Viewing List: Non-Fiction Films (2012): #69
UNESCO's Memory of the World: National Cinematic Heritage: #72

I periodically like to note the lists where my list rank is higher than my overall rank. Currently, there are 19 such lists. I can't really guess what the average tally would be.

I usually sort all lists by rank and then look at the top of the right column. Half of my ranks fall under the 287th currently. As for the top rankings, after 14 number ones (including 2 non-platinums) I got mostly Latin cinema:

Well, answering the question including Platinums makes no sense to me since there are several users out there who have 10 or more Platinum awards. This would be a pretty boring topic if everyone just pasted a list of tied #1 rankings.

And nobody's forcing you to read this thread if you don't find it an interesting question. :geek:

I'm not sure I buy that argument. Of the 6 lists I show as platinum, I worked on exactly one of them.

2 more lists completed, so from 6-15:
01 (01) #106 (#106) Top 100 Animated Features of All Time (86.0%)
02 (02) #110 (#109) 100 Animated Feature Films (BFI Screen Guides) (75.8%)
03 (03) #113 (#112) Guldbagge Award (40.0%)
04 (04) #137 (#139) All Time Box Office (93.5%)
05 (06) #171 (#170) Animation - imdb (92.0%)
06 (07) #247 (#244) FLM's Best Swedish Films of All Time (23.8%)
07 (---) #307 (------) Bodil Award Winners for Best Danish Film (17.1%)
08 (---) #326 (------) Adventure (94.0%)
09 (08) #341 (#340) Annecy Festival's 100 Films for a Century of Animation (50.0%)
10 (---) #367 (------) Sci-fi (94.0)

Not much movement in these lists I see, so I'm not working on them, and nor is anyone else

Highest below 10%:
23 (21) #711 (#756) UNESCO's Memory of the World: National Cinematic Heritage (7.5%)

and looking at % it's kind of surprising these aren't in that list (the rest of my top 10 in percentage):
92,1% MovieSense 101 75th - 1380
92,0% AFI's 100 years...100 thrills 44th - 1004
90,8% Reddit top 250 83rd - 1426
90,0% 1990s - imdb 15th - 489
90,0% 1980s - imdb 19th - 579
90,0% Taschen 100 All-time favorite movies 48th - 1022
90,0% Drama - imdb 82nd - 1425

and from the new lists
14 #461 Paste's The 100 Best Anime Movies of All Time - so I'm close to fill out half the top 10 with animation lists

5 lists completed, so from 6-15:
01 (01) #099 (#106) Top 100 Animated Features of All Time (87%)
02 (03) #113 (#113) Guldbagge Award (40%)
03 (02) #114 (#110) 100 Animated Feature Films (BFI Screen Guides) (75.8%)
04 (04) #120 (#137) All Time Box Office (94.5%)
05 (---) #162 (------) FESPACO - Étalon de Yennenga (8.7%)
06 (05) #181 (#171) Animation - imdb (92%)
07 (06) #222 (#247) FLM's Best Swedish Films of All Time (24.6%)
08 (---) #234 (------) 50 Greatest Sequels (90%)
09 (07) #243 (#307) Bodil Award Winners for Best Danish Film (18.6%)
10 (09) #319 (#341) Annecy Festival's 100 Films for a Century of Animation (52%)

Because of another challenge I've seen two FESPACO films this month, and those two was enough to reach #162, so clearly "noone" else is working on this list

and looking at % it's kind of surprising these aren't in that list (the rest of my top 10 in percentage):
94,0% Drama - imdb 27th - 614
94,0% Sci-fi - imdb 14th - 393
93,1% MovieSense 101 73rd - 1141
93,0% AFI's 100 years...100 thrills 44th - 888
92,0% Taschen 100 All-time favorite movies 36th - 719
92,0% Adventure - imdb 17th - 439
92,0% 1990s - imdb 11th - 344
91,6% Reddit top 250 85th - 1230

4 imdb lists are probably not too surprising though

if one doesnt tell which are platinum then others might assume they are out of top 10, not all are mind readers so posting platinums and in addition non-plat top-10 might be way to go then imo :P

Well, these lists show two things. What we working on and which lists are easy to rank high on (in other words what lists almost nobody works on)

High percentage - High rank: Works on it or gained because of other lists worked on - Average difficulty to complete
High percentage - Low rank: Works on it or gained because of other lists worked on - Everyone works on these
Low percentage - High Rank: Probably doesn't work on it - Nobody else is either

Can only speak for me but I do work on 8 of those 10 listed plus 3 more.

All animation: Top 100 Animated Features of All Time, 100 Animated Feature Films (BFI Screen Guides), Animation + Paste (#447)
All scandinavian: Guldbagge Award, FLM's Best Swedish Films of All Time, Bodil Award Winners for Best Danish Film
All Box Office: All Time Box Office + All-Time Worldwide Box office (#664)
and finally: BFI Flare's Best LGBT Films of All Time (#1065)

I'm working on the Fantasy list, which is why it's popped up. Worked on Sport as well, and I watch a few from Timmy D's list every now and then, too. Otherwise, same lists... and they've all gained checks, even though I haven't directly worked (ever) on any of those bottom 6.

Not counting plats.
#1 on the Romanian list, which I tried to complete last month. Unfortunately one movie was unavailable online. The rest is pretty predictable, with lists I always focused on (TSPDT, S&S, 21st Century, and lately 500<400).

Are you Romanian, Tarr? I once tried working through the Romanian list, but there were many titles I couldn't find subtitles for.

Yes, I'm Romanian. Unfortunately, there are some Romanian movies that are definitely worth seeing, but don't have subtitles, especially the ones from the communist period.

im not interested to see which lists its easy to get high rank on since it's easy to figure out but for me the interesting part is to see fellow icm members interests and such. but if it's for what's easy to rank high on then the more reason to post those platinums too! obviously not all will share the same plats and for some others are easier/more interesting/more fun to plat

and again there is this topic for "what are you working on" viewtopic.php?t=767&1/
just saying, not that i mind offtopic

There is no topic. OP asked people to post their top 10 non-platinums.

As I said, I can only answer for my own list.
But it is at least more interesting if people actually tell us why their list look like that, rather just to post a top 10. So you mean that any notes we have about our top 10 is off-topic?

forgot about first post and just read the title and though posting only non-plats for whatever reason was going offrails. but like said i said i don't mind offtopic, it's just that i find those platinums very interesting and it seems so weird to me not post them since they tell very much

Some developments since I began this topic:

- Canada has risen into my top 10 as a result of participating in the Canadian Challenge this month. I've checked* looked into what is available to me of the remaining films, and I don't think that I will be able to score a Bronze for the list any time soon, however, another 8 films would place me in the top 100 with the rankings, and that's certainly achievable.

- I have been working on/off through the 500 Essential Cult Movies, which has led me ranking higher in it than the More Noirs list. For the moment.

* Had to use a different work here since that would make it sound like I am checking unseen films!

6 lists completed, so from 7-15:
Amanda, Best Cartoons Ever, FilmTotaal, iCM - Most Checked, imdb: Fantasy, 1980s
01 (02) #055 (#113) Guldbagge Award (50%)
02 (01) #078 (#099) Top 100 Animated Features of All Time (90%)
03 (03) #090 (#114) 100 Animated Feature Films (BFI Screen Guides) (78%)
04 (07) #091 (#222) FLM's Best Swedish Films of All Time (33%)
05 (06) #097 (#181) Animation - imdb (96%)
06 (04) #099 (#120) All Time Box Office (95%)
07 (05) #164 (#162) FESPACO - Étalon de Yennenga (8%)

09 (---) #194 (------) Sci-fi (94%)
10 (09) #196 (#243) Bodil Award Winners for Best Danish Film (20%)

Still going on with animation and scandinavian. Saw about 12 Bergman movies this month.

94% Drama - imdb 18th - 419
93% MovieSense 101 87th - 1152
93% AFI's 100 years...100 movies - 143rd - 1824

I've never consciously worked on a list, but get:

On more than half of the official lists, my ranking is higher than my overall ranking. I feel like that doesn't make sense but I'm no mathematician.

There are only 22 lists for which my own ranking is higher than my overall ranking, but I think your dilemma makes sense since size of lists and ease of completion are factors.

e.g. I am ranked #599 on the AFI Thrills list with only 4 films unseen, but ranked #187 on More Noirs from TSPDT with 557 films unseen.

I'm not sure exactly what has changed in the last couple of months other than me watching a lot of silent films for this month's challenge, but somehow I went from 6 platinums to 14 platinums since May.

Rather big changes since last time I posted. It's all about monthly challenges and watching shorts though.... And loosing a plat (IMDb Drama)
Is there a 10 lowest ranks thread btw?

Went from 17 to 19 plats since last May, so there must be 2 new lists. Otherwise it's basically the same other lists.

My father didn’t have the skill of a professional cameraman. The result? Avant-garde cinema.

AA Best Picture Nominees 537/539; 4th place
AA Foreign Nominees 184/313; 28th place
Rotten Tomatoes 99/100 32nd
Music 47/50 33rd

iCM

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:37-40)
