How much do you know about the forum? Take this quiz and find out! The questions are easy, so I expect most of the regulars to get perfect scores. Feel free to suggest your own questions, and if I like them I'll add them to the quiz.

Please put your answers inside a spoiler tag.

iCM comment questions:

1. How many children does Vuk have? (hint: i count it)

2. boulderman would like to buy Eskiya, but which film would he NOT like to buy?

Forum questions:

4. Which of the following films can be considered a "mafia" film?
A. The Godfather B. Goodfellas C. Hababam Sinifi

5. Fill in the blank: X-Men: First Class is typical _____ _____ that Zeppo wouldn't watch in a million years.

6. Fill in the blank: iCM is run by Erik, Piet, and Marijn, also known as "The _____".

7. Which is the bigger number, 400 or 500?

8. Who is Joachim's alternate identity?

9. In which film did monty give his most famous performance? (hint: his avatar is from the film)

10. Who tries to encourage other people to "go dark"?
A. Kasparius B. ArthurYanthar C. monty D. Darth Vader

11. The main character of It's a Wonderful Life likes to listen to music, but who is his favorite musician of all time?

12. Match each person with a type of film or iCM list (based on how much they've watched). Use each option once, and try to maximize the number of good matches.

I think Russian films here is supposed to be short films.

I don't know the answer to the first two questions, but they're not really forum questions anyway.

I'm pretty sure he's seen more Russian films than anyone else on the forum, so it's still correct. I didn't say that it would be the best possible match for each person.

For the last question, actually what I meant was total checks (both official and unofficial). I edited my post to clarify that.

I think we should add one more question:

According to Mightysparks, which film is in the same league of Ed Wood's Plan 9?

That could be applied to any film I've rated 1/10. I've used the Plan 9 comparison many times.

What about "According to Mightysparks, which critically acclaimed film in the TSPDT top 100 is in the same league of Ed Wood's Plan 9?"

Nope, I guess that too has multiple answers.

I've only rated 1 film in the top 100 1/10. The whole point of the Plan 9 comparison is that a film I rate 1/10 has NO REDEEMING QUALITIES. Except that Plan 9 is one of my 1/10s which is universally considered as having no redeeming qualities.

Tokyo Story isn't scary, it's just crap. I don't know why this thread has come back around to me again. Please obsess about someone else.

Suggesting Mighty's well-known quirks of taste might be part of a 'how well do you know the forum?' quiz is by no means picking on Mighty. You and she have apparently chosen to take it that way, but one could just as easily take it as affectionate tribute to someone who's a major fixture on this forum, especially given the context.

That's what I meant, that picking on her for her tastes is a notable part of the forum so it's no surprise that it comes up. I think mighty sees the very fact that her quirks of taste are well known and a fixture of this forum as a negative, though. She quite a bit less vocal about disliking things than she was several years ago, but we all still bring it up.

As I said to mighty: Although it's true that I've seen a lot of Japanese films and themagician has seen a lot of anime films, the correct answer was the reverse.

Actually blueboybob has more checks than Armoreska, but he's not on the first page of members, so your answer is correct.

That might be true, I don't remember, but the "correct" answer that I had in mind was based on how much each person has watched. I'll edit the question to clarify that. Also, the question was specifically about anime films, not anime in general. If it was anime in general, then Rad82 has watched about 3 times as much anime as me and Armoreska has watched slightly more than me (in terms of total time). I don't know how much anime in general themagician has watched.

Edit: I found this post by themagician about translating American TV series to Finnish, but he doesn't say anything about translating anime.
Edit: I numbered the questions.

It looks like 9 was one of the harder ones. I guess it's easier for people who have seen the film. I recognized monty when I watched it, and then I never forgot the scene.

Too lazy to type it out...
Don't know 1 and 3, know the rest.

I'm surprised even some regulars have missed the enormous amount of repetitive jokes about my alter ego.
Well, I guess my alter ego and myself are the only once making them still and the rest is fed up with it.

Well, I guess, that in-joke is not too well known outside the Film WC section.

Wait, based on joachimt's avatar I once thought his true identity was Lionel Messi :shifty:

I think mjf should add this one:
Who are the No.1 fans of Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung on this forum respectively?

joachimt actually has 2 alternate identities. He also happens to be the guy who directed this film.

What about another alter ego:

"Which director is Arthur's alter ego?"

ambiguous. he's one of two. depends on the lighting. and how much vodka and time sculpting he's had that day.

Because picking on you for not liking acclaimed movies is one of the things people do on this forum.
I could redirect some of the member's butthurt if it relieves mightysparks of some stress. I'm good at disliking acclaimed movies.
