I'm not sure if this list has been posted yet in this thread, but I just found this (published 2 months ago):

Haven't worked on this list since about August D: but just updated the OP with new lists. Hoping to get the 21st century list out by the end of the month.

Glad this is starting up again. Back in the summer I went through a lot of the lists with a program to check for lists erroneously marked as ranked/unranked, and there were quite a few that were unranked that weren't marked as such. That should fix a lot of lower rankings, where the oldest films in unranked chronological lists and the films at the beginning of the alphabet in unranked alphabetical lists were getting false boosts.

Anyway here are some lists:

Did you fix those ones up in the Google drive? Thanks for the lists

I haven't finished moving house yet (still cleaning the old place) but hope to catch up with as much as possible over this weekend.

I was hoping to have the 21st Century list up this week, but man it's hard finding decent reviews for some of those films. I just read about 30 horribly written reviews for A Quiet Place and still have nothing. Urgh.

Well, it's ready...

The first edition of the 21st Century List is now up and running! See here: http://theyshootzombies.com/21stcentury/

And iCM: https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/the+ ... htysparks/
And IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls043380960/

Still needs some tweaking, I know.

I am also having a weird technical problem as two lines are being added between the cast list and the review instead of one. I used exactly the same formula as the TSZDT one and if I only put a couple of them on the page it will show only one line but when I put all of them up it shows two. Though there's nothing there when I paste it, after saving the page it adds two <em></em> tags. So any help there would be appreciated :/ Been trying to work it out for an hour and I'm about ready to smash something so I cbf now.

Also for some reason the 126-150 link is struck out and I also can't work out why.

222/250, which is hardly surprising. Not sure if I can find many tips in the remaining 28 (many of them I skipped on purpose or don't really seem to belong in the list - The Skin I Live In?). Guess it's time to finally watch that Ginger Snaps film though :)

Great initiative, especially with the stronger focus on older horror in the regular list.

Not sure what system you're using, but the review starts with an <em><br></em>, which is causing the extra space (the <br /> in particular)

The strike-through comes from a class="broken_link" that is added to the <a>, but I assume that's automatic? No clue why it things the link is wrong though, it appears to work fine.

Yea it appears to be automatic but idk why. In the spreadsheet I have an added break between the cast and the reviews, but when I save the page it adds the em tags for some reason. It does the same thing to the regular TSZDT pages though, but it does not cause an extra line space :'(

It adds the <em></em> there, but not the <br /> (= line break). That's the tag that is causing the extra line.

I've seen 236/250 on the top list and 620/1592 on the full list. Not as many as I would've thought but I guess it makes sense. I don't watch as many newer horror movies in general as I do older ones from the 70s and 80s (which I think of as kind of the golden age). Although I may have to start digging in more. I'm always looking for diamonds in the rough.

Any idea when we could expect another update of the regular TSZDT list? No rush or anything, just curious.

Also for some reason the 126-150 link is struck out and I also can't work out why.
little late, but thank you for this... I've been using the big TSZDT list the last 1-2 years to expand my horrors views. Most of what I haven't seen is either post-2000 or some of the franchise sequels so this makes things a bit easier...

Somehow I missed adding the 60 odd lists Chris posted in August, but I just finished putting them into the spreadsheet and finding some more lists which I've added to the OP. I've also finished putting in all the screenshots that he had collected -- after putting them into the wrong spreadsheet and then having to do it again :verymad: .

Anyway, hopefully on track to have the 2019 edition up by mid-May at the latest.

Most annoying addition to the list.. The Wizard of Oz

Are there any other films on the list that don't really make sense? Like, really needing a magnifying glass to see it as a horror film?

The rest of the new additions are fine. I kind of give some thriller/film noir films a pass since people can find horror elements in them. Vertigo, The Day the Earth Stood Still and Rear Window are probably the most questionable ones to me, aside from Wizard of Oz. There was also a nomination for Les Vampires and I'm not sure if that person actually knows what it's about...

They do repeatedly kidnap people, use hypnosis and drugs, and do stuff like gas a whole house full of people during a party in one of the episodes IIRC.

I'm interest to see what happens to all those B movies from the 1930s, 40s and 50s that entered the list last time with the new update. I've watched a bunch of them for the 30s and 40s Challenges this year and while most are very questionable inclusions, there are some pretty decent ones too (The Black Room, Before I Hang, etc).

Oh wow that’s awesome. Not sure the people unhappy about all the older films making it into the list are going to appreciate the find though :P

Added all the new lists from Chris and we have 2568 lists included so far for this year's edition (up from 2362). Would be nice to hit over 2600 but not sure that'll happen. I plan to release the new list by next Sunday since I'll be pretty busy after that.

I've been pretty lazy keeping up to date with the list the last couple of years and have over 50 unwatched, so I'm trying to make my way through those and then I want to start watching all the nominated films by # nominations/lists. I have a little over 900 unwatched from 3+ lists so should keep me busy for a lifetime.

I'm looking forward to the update. I've got the list complete at the moment but it'll be cool to have some unwatched ones pop up in there hopefully.

If it stays like it is now, you'll have 5 new ones :whistling:

Only five new ones? I would have expected more. Anyway, I've been going through my text file of lists I note down, and I have one last tranche of 62 lists to add to this year's edition. Even if they aren't all used, that should bring the total over 2600.

Oh, yeah. I try to check the source list, but sometimes I miss things. Hopefully mighty should act as a second filter. I thought the line strikethrough was supposed to represent a broken link, but it's not broken.

Not 5 new ones, just 5 flavo hadn’t seen. The line strike through is automatic as I have a broken link checker installed but it sometimes gets it wrong. I’ll uninstall it soon coz it’s pretty annoying. I double check the lists but sometimes I miss stuff — that eerie books list is indeed already included.
