My official rank is essentially "stuck" at #120 (sometimes it's #119...sometimes it's #121...), but I've been freshly rising in the other category for some reason. I'm up to #107 for total checks now. In December, I posted that I was #113.

I think I only have one or two dozen TV episodes checked (I added those to boost my numbers on ChrisReynolds' All horror list, a handful of episodes from Masters of Horror, maybe a few others), so it's mostly movies for me. My rankings are:

Official: #29 (4574 top list checks)
Unofficial: #9 (13517 total checks)

Giving me a percentage of 33.8%. Yep, I watch a lot of crap.
Wow, haven't updated here in more than five years!

Official: #17 (8078 official checks)
All: #24 (17741 total checks)

So 45.5% official checks, up a fair bit from 5 years ago. Watching less crap than I once was, sure, but feeling like I'm on a bit of a treadmill at this point, watching more of what I 'ought' to and less of what I'd like to. There's a lesson in there, somewhere...

Went from: 34.84% -> 35.52% -> 35.14% official checks.

Pretty much all full-length movies. Number of shorts checked is marginal, TV stuff negligible.

There's a weird phenomenon with your checks.

I have this desktop list that I occasionally update (and share every blue moon) of the 30 users who have checked the most shorts. Including you. But a couple of months ago, I submitted a large pile of short films for updates because they didn't have the proper "Short" tag. Those updates seemed to affect the beta ICM only, which means the typical user now has a tally of shorts that's substantially higher in the beta version. (In my case, I've seen about 560 more "beta shorts" than "non-beta shorts.")

But YOUR tally of "beta shorts" is over 300 *smaller* than your "non-beta" tally. Right now, it's 6376 vs. 6687? Weird. I guess this means there's a certain strain of shorts that are tagged in non-beta but NOT tagged in beta. And there's something unusual about your tastes that leads you to watch a lot of them.

If it helps I am working through the lists
More Brief Encounters part 1 -- https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/more ... cippenham/
More Brief Encounters Part 2 -- https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/more ... cippenham/

I watch them on my commute to and from work as well as at the gym

Well, I just took a quick (possibly imperfect) look at the two versions of Brief Encounters 1. It looks like 1676 films are tagged as Shorts in the non-beta version, but 1808 are tagged as Shorts in the beta version. So that doesn't explain you seeing more non-beta shorts.

But in BE2, it looks like 1687 "Shorts" in the non-beta version but far fewer in the beta version. I don't have the patience to fully investigate this...there was a point when I think PeacefulAnarchy said he was going to try updating all the "non-Shorts" in the Brief Encounters lists, but perhaps he did Part 1 but not Part 2

The highest official rank I ever had was #116, so I like to note how many checks behind user #116 I am. Currently...70. And all but one of the users between me and #116 seem like regular, active participants. Oh well.

Good stat to keep track of, but it often fluctuates when someone appears or disappears from the rankings. My highest ranking was #39 a couple months back. After that someone (burneyfan?) reappeared in the rankings on page 1, theBlackLodge passed me after I just passed him and Mothravka discovered official shorts.
Currently at #42
5 checks away from #41
15 checks away from #40
125 checks away from #39, huge gap there.

I'm #71 in overall checks.
