It's a new release. It's got 43 checks in the last week and another 50 or so the week before. It's just a matter of time before it comes back.

That one is just because the shorts cutoff had been set really high before. It's still eligible, just not in the top 50.

Not only the 3 idiots are still around... Also the Turkish stand-up comedian on the Documentary list. I thought he was supposed to be kicked out as well....

Kinda tempted to finally watch Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future and Eskiya if these lists stay a bit stable. Looks like they're not going anywhere anytime soon and they're in the way of 5 pointless but close internet medals. Less sure about The Help and 3 Idiots though.

Good to see we're finding solutions to keep these lists usable though.

I lost two checks, La Luna (2011) and Lifted (2006) and gained eight checks, White Christmas (1954), Winnie the Pooh and a Busy Day (1972), Winnie the Pooh Goes Visiting (1971), Rabbit Fire (1951), The Meaning of Life (1983), Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (2007), Duck! Rabbit, Duck! (1953) and August Rush (2007). Mostly all shorts/animation.

The Help and Eskiya are decent but still overrated, I've seen them last year.
I don't think they are worth more than an 7.5 rating at best.
Eskiya is probably a better film from the two.

Sames goes for 3 idiots. Decent, silly fun, but overrated as hell should have a rating of 7 or something.
Should be 2 hours max.

Updated the imdb lists, lots of new films over 400 checks. I noticed the Doc and mini-series lists still haven't been updated, even though the links have been changed. I wonder what happened to make those not update?

This. I don't care about IMDb lists at all. I still think the best idea would be to get rid of them (genres and decades) completely and leave just the top 250 and the Box Office Mojo list and replace these with iCM curated lists of the same sort.

This scam removal suggestion sounds fine at first, but then again who will be the authorities to determine what a scam is, I mean - surely 99% cases are obvious, but how about the 1% whereby a genuinely good film gets thrown out? In this case one is too many...
Ah, I knew someone suggested replacing the IMDb box office list with the one from Box Office Mojo before. Need for Speed and Expendables 3 are missing from the IMDb list, while they are included in the Box Office Mojo one. Exodus just passed $200,000,000 but I reckon that one will make it into the IMDb list soon as well.

Which site has the right figures?

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of IMDb box office list, i.e. why don't The Guys just take the Box Office Mojo list?

Both lists are the same except they're not synced.. btw, both IMDb and Box Office Mojo are owned by Amazon..

It just might be more comfortable for the Guys, you know. Manually adding the few titles which miss, every now and then, sounds reasonable. (When it's done!)

Can't wait for The Expendables 3 and Need For Speed getting official, by the way ..

I seem to remember that IMDb has removed all links to that particular IMDb page because they want to encourage people to use boxofficemojo. So the only way to find that page is to use the direct URL and IMDb don't update the page regularly either. I think it was somewhere on the IMDb boards where a staffer explained why the list wasn't up-to-date when someone complained about it.
Personal film goals for 2019.

Yet titles like the new Hobbit and Big Hero 6 have been added to the IMDb list, so it does get updated.

Even when the list was updated weekly and was linked on imdb's page they weren't synched. It's probably an issue of currency conversion where boxoffice mojo has one algorithm and imdb has another.

IMDB staff have said their box office list is no longer being updated and there are no links to it on IMDB, it does it automatically but does miss films.

BOM is the correct list as it includes Need for Speed, Exodus, Expendables 3, Penguins...etc.

Alright, thanks! So because there are no IMDb links on BOM, we can't make it into a list, unless someone updates it manually?

You can use my webpage-reading program to get the BOM URLs (I just tested it and it works). I've attached a reader.txt file that you can use when running the program.

Someone can make a table in Excel with BOM URLs in column A and IMDb URLs in column B, and each time a film makes the list, add it to the table (the table doesn't have to be in order). Then use VLOOKUP to get the list in the correct order. VLOOKUP returns #N/A if it doesn't find something, so you'll know if a film is missing from the table.

Just wondering but to be clear as well: do we really need that All Time Box Office list now that IMDb has gotten rid of the Box Office Mojo imports and has somehow focused on certain "obvious" titles (Hobbit, Hunger Games etc), not even caring to notice that Fury also passed the 200 million benchmark?

What's the point to have an incomplete list, which keeps growing to no end in sight? Maybe we should contact to the guys, arrange a poll or something to limit that list to a say...top 100?

There have been comments made on this list (including by me) for ages. The amount of films that are getting on the list now is crazy (31 just in the previous year) and includes a lot of films that aren't even regarded as hits (Dracula Untold, After Earth). It should definitely be limited, and I don't think it makes sense that it's so much bigger than the "All Time Box Office" list, as adjusting for inflation gives a more accurate picture of what films have been the biggest hits.

I'd be in favor of capping that list at top100, updated yearly... same as the All Time Box Office is. It'll still have plenty of new updates each year. There are 11 entries from 2013 and 11 from 2014 in the top100.

I've seen all 100 from the inflation adjusted list. Missing 15 from the big list's top100, and would be willing to complete it... except maybe for the 2 fast and furious sequels and the FOUR god damn twilight films. But with 30+ films each year being added to a list that's almost 600 movies long and mostly crap... it just sounds like torture to see the last 190 I haven't seen.
