Lousy Little Sixpence - a documentary about the "stolen generation" and early Aborigine rights movements, with fascinating archival footage and first-person testimonies. Great viewing for history buffs and available on YouTube.

I just watched Lost: Black Earth, a triple-challenge contender (low rating, SF, Aussie) and it's totally worth it for connoisseurs of cheap, amateurish junk, so please don't leave my lonely single check alone for long:

That's odd, as I was able to watch it here from Malaysia. A few of the films I need to wait until I'm back in Canada to see, but the three I mentioned in my post didn't have that restriction.

Did you try this link? https://www.nfb.ca/film/sweet_childhood/ There's also a download option (but it costs money).
It's also youtube, uploaded on the NFB's own channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FcxjakfjL0

Looking up bad movies yesterday and thought of Robbie Moffat, and found that very few of his films were on ICM, including one I've seen, so I added it and first-checked -

Forgot to update this thread over the summer while I was travelling.

https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/sergeant+hassan/ - P. Ramlee film
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/pu+og+eg/ - Icelandic short (don't remember if I was first check or not, but the other check is hidden)
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/waldemarsudde/ - Swedish short I saw at a museum in Stockholm. I wrote to them to find out the names of the shorts they had on loop on a tv, and to find them online. Haven't had a chance to look into it further since I got back, but I saw 4 and there were more but the museum was closing. May need to add some to imdb
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/you+me+him+and+us/ - American comedic threesome short
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/the+way+you+love/ - American dramatic short
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/rak+lab+lang/ - Thai tv film that I had to add to imdb
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/bienaventurados/ - Argentinian short
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/chang-gwol/ - Korean medieval zombie movie we saw in theatres, from the same folks who did Train to Busan

Also a bunch of shorts not yet on imdb, including a couple of new ones from the NFB. May get around to adding them before year's end.

Hahaha, I always check that as well. Every time I see a pre-1943 movie with just a few checks, I take a look to see if PUNQ has checked it.

I actually have some pre-1900 titles lined up with zero checks at the moment. Stay tuned......

Well, they are random old shorts, but from around 1900 so I thought you would always be interested in those. At least PUNQ always is.

https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/berlin+i+love+you/

the 4th installment of the 'cities of love' franchise. I loved the first one (Paris, Je T'Aime), was well procuced, with big names in and off camera and it was essentially about LOVE. I was in Paris the year before so it was good seeing again all those places!

Now, this series are nothing but a long tourist advert for the city. And a bad advert, I must say. Stories with no 3rd act or just plain political (there's a short solely to promote the #metoo movement). It should be about love but like the black eyed peas song, "where is the love?".

Also, Berlin is viewed from the tourist POV. We don't see actual 'berliners' showings us around and we barely hear deutsche (just sometimes, to remind the viewer that this is berlin!).

With only a few minutes, The Cakemaker (2017) gave me a better view of Berlin than this in 2 hours. Anyway, in less than 4 months, I stumbled on 3 movies depicting Berlin that I think I wanna go there someday! :)
